We went to this restaurant for the first time as a family and were looking forward to a nice breakfast. When we sat down, one of the staff members seemed confused that we needed four place settings for four people, which was odd but we didn’t think much of it.
We all ordered breakfast, but once the food arrived and we started eating, it tasted off—something just wasn’t right. None of us could finish our meals. Shortly afterward, we all began feeling sick and ended up having to go to the pharmacy to get over-the-counter medication. Not to mention the establishment wasn’t all that clean.

Again it's amazing place to come and it we had Barbarian which is the meat and potatoes. 3slices of peameal (check the pics ) 3 grilled ham 3 large farmer's sausages and 3 strips of bacon ( done perfectly) and a heaping of homefries . Check the pics. You have not breakfast until you come here. The Egg Benedict superb (Again check the pics) the prices are great the staff amazing the chef and cook Superior. It's a small cozy place .Gets busy so if there is a line wait it's well worth it. Coffee is good and don't forget to ask for the hot mustard.

I actually worked here in the early 2000s , long before reviews became a thing. Chris, Louies dad actually was cooking back than and Louie . The food has and always has been fresh, and amazing service. We live in trenton now so only go once in a blue moon. I can't ever remember a complaint except one that the bacon had fat on it. Lol. All bacon has fat, sometimes peameal doesn't. Louie and staff have always been excellent. Can't wait till our next visit. Cheers.

Had the peameal bacon breakfast with eggs and home fries. The best breakfast around. I have a big appetite but I always eve up taking some home. Love this place.

First time here—and definitely the last. I walked into Rainbow Restaurant expecting a decent breakfast and walked out $50 poorer and deeply regretting every bite.
Ordered the 3 eggs breakfast with added chicken. The “chicken” (if you can call it that) tasted like someone boiled cardboard and slapped it on the plate. When I asked the waitress about the complete lack of flavor, she proudly declared, “We don’t season.” Oh, well in that case—bravo on achieving a perfect culinary achievement in mediocrity!
Tried the burger too, just to be fair.
This might just be the worst diner breakfast in all of Durham Region—and I actively explore new spots. Don’t be fooled by the suspiciously glowing 5-star reviews unless you enjoy overpriced food with all the taste of a wet napkin.
Rainbow Restaurant: come for the hype, stay for the regret.

You'll easily get twice the portion size you would get at any other breakfast place for the same price.
Prices have gone up everywhere as far as eating out goes while portion sizes have noticeably gone down. This place you pay a fair price for a big meal and you dont leave the restraunt feeling gouged.
