Came in today with my family (April 10th) for breakfast and the food was not great. They missed things on my order, the food came out cold and overly salty. Service was slow and the servers were arguing (older server was belittling and yelling at the younger server) in front of customers, which made it extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. Will not be coming back here again

Seemed a little short staffed. We were seated quickly but waited about 20 minutes for our food. Food was okay. Haven't been here in a while, probably won't be back.

I was here on Saturday Apr. 8 Sorry but it was nothing but terrible. Geasy bacon, cold potatoes that were flavourless. I am sure they were previous day' leftovers, and over $20 for breakfast!. Should have known better when at peak breakfast ime I was one of only two people here.

Das is great, a very nice, giving person. Food is ALWAYS good and Judy is one of the best servers in Durham! Been there many many times and always happy atmosphere when I get in there!

Went for early breakfast Sunday. First ones in 7am on the nose. Some snow etc on roads. The cook was the only one on there. He made coffee for us, brought us water Took our orders etc etc. Moments later the next person arrived and apologized for the delays. Told them no need to apologize. I share this so the cook gets the shout out he deserves . Not to get anyone else in trouble. You should know that have a great employee who cares.
Food was great as was the service! Things happen. It is how you react that dictates the experience. I have spent 25 plus years in hospitality. Thought I would share ! People are so quick to criticize when things go wrong. We will be back

Going to this location for years. Great and intimate spot.

Visited on a weekday when only a couple of tables were occupied, so I expected better service and food. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing.

The service was extremely slow, and despite being very hungry, the wait felt endless.
• Eggs Benedict: The hollandaise sauce was just a bland yellow sauce with no flavor at all.
• Home Fries: They had a burnt oil smell, almost like engine oil—really unappetizing.
• Eggs: The server didn’t ask how I wanted my eggs, so I ended up with runny eggs, which I dislike.
• French Toast: The chef left it on the stove for 5-10 minutes while being on a call with headphones on. The result was dry, hard French toast that was tough to eat. It’s an open kitchen, so we could see everything happening, and it felt strange to watch this unfold. Isn’t that the purpose of an open kitchen—to show food being prepared with care?
• Peameal Bacon: Undercooked and nearly raw, making it inedible.

We were so hungry that we didn’t want to argue or request replacements because waiting for another order wasn’t an option.

I’ve visited other branches many times, and this was by far the worst experience. Given how empty the restaurant was, I expected much better service and food quality.

Sorry, but I can only give 2 stars for this visit.

Had a wonderful experience at this location. Ordered the basic 3 eggs with sausage and bacon, the food was perfectly cooked and above all the service was great!
Will be coming back to try some of the other menu items for my sunday breakfasts.

Not bad

I had an omelette that was not cooked through, and the home fries were bland. My daughter seemed to like her food, however. I was disappointed as previous meals here were good.

Our go to spot when I get a breakfast craving that I don't have to cook. Food is great and our waitress is always friendly and attentive to our table for anything we need.

Tried to dine-in, no one greeted or acknowledged us after sitting down for nearly half an hour, having people who had been sat after us getting their orders taken and we didn’t even receive a menu. Had to grab one menu that had fallen on the floor to share. After having our drink order taken, after waiting for 35 minutes in total for nothing we were informed they were out of cream cheese, milk, chocolate milk, white bread, and several other items. Too bad because it’s never been that terrible of service in the past.

A solid go-to breakfast and brunch location. Food is delicious and affordable with a wide option of items available.

Service is quick depending on your timing. Some days can be slower if a local team or organization gets in there first and eats up the real estate. Other than that the wait times aren’t generally too long. This also applies to the food, which is usually to your table within 5 minutes or so after ordering.

Atmosphere is warm and cozy. Can be busy on weekends due to it being a choice location for brunch. This can also cause it to have a busier and louder atmosphere but nothing too serious or crazy. It becomes nice background noise.

Overall a solid breakfast and brunch location with good food and good pricing. Staff is always friendly!

Parking: Lots of parking spots. It shares the parking lot with a Sobeys so there is ample space and availability.

Kid-friendliness: Atmosphere is kid friendly. Can be a touch loud at times due to local sports teams or youth groups congregating after their activities. Mostly on weekends.

Sunset Grill is my go-to spot for all-day breakfast, and it never disappoints when I’m in the city!

What truly sets Sunset Grill apart, though, is the exceptional service. Julie, our server, was outstanding. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her warm and positive attitude made our visit even more enjoyable.

ASK FOR JULIE!!
