Purchased items for my daughter. She loved everything!
I really enjoyed this place. It’s such a little bakery, but it’s super delicious, and despite being gluten-free, it’s all really delicious—especially the brownie with whatever nuts those were.

I bought the lemon bar, apple cinnamon muffin and a ginger turmeric latte --SO SO GOOD
We were very happy to find such a high quality gluten free bakery. I prefer Boon over popular GF bakeries in Toronto or Oakville.
Ingredients were very clean, many no seed oil options with no refined sugar either!

Gluten-Free Goodness That Surprises and Delights
Date of Visit: Tuesday, June 24, 2025 Owen Sound, ON
As someone who’s tried their fair share of gluten-free baked goods—and often found them dry, grainy, and underwhelming - I wasn’t expecting to be wowed. Boon Bakery proved me wrong in the best way.
This 100% gluten-free and dairy-free bakery is a cozy little spot in downtown Owen Sound, and it’s clear from the moment you walk in that there’s serious talent behind the counter. Everything LOOKS amazing – the craftsmanship of the baking is on point. We picked up a few treats: Nanaimo bars, carrot cakes, and butter tarts—each one beautifully crafted and full of flavour. These aren’t just good for people who need gluten-free—they’re just plain good.
The attention to detail is impressive. Everything looks like it belongs in a pastry case in a high-end patisserie, but with the added bonus of being gluten-sensitive and dairy sensitive friendly. You can tell there’s a lot of heart and skill in every bite.
While I have had many negative experiences with gluten-free baking, I have also had some truly positive ones, and I always keep an open mind and palate when trying a new bakery. So, If you’ve written off gluten-free baking in the past, Boon might just change your mind. It’s a lovely little bakery doing big things—and definitely worth a visit.

Wow. Being gluten free , their sourdough bread is a real treat.
I'm sensitive to some of the additives and pre mixed gluten-free flours but this place makes top notch delicious gluten free treats without all of the weird thickeners you find in commercially made options. I'm so stoked to have found this place! I don't even live in the sound but I will for sure be making the trip back just for these goodies! Top notch service and high quality treats ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Love this place and love the food. The croissants are amazing!!!
Sorry but that oat loaf was burnt on the bottom. It must have been at least a day old. Hard dry. Crust stayed too long in the oven and sitting on a shelf. 15 bucks for that little offering was a loaf , _ I would not sell . I hope this was an anomaly.
My daughter told me about this place, WHAT A FIND! best sour dough and whole wheat gluten free bread i have EVER HAD! The carrot cake and cookies were heavenly, best gluten free bakery i have come across, worth the drive.
Everything seems fine other than the sausage rolls
Went in to try their baked goods for the first time , and because it’s all gluten free wasn’t sure what to expect . However didn’t like the taste of the gluten free items . I’m sorry :-(
The cupcakes are 25.00 for 6 of them which is to pricy I feel , though on a positive note “ they did look yummy however , in this day and age with the cost of everything , most people earning only a living wage can’t afford the prices of their baked items.
I’m sure people with dietary restrictions love this bakery, so huge appreciation for the fact that “ it’s gluten free” and that people are able to enjoy the baked goods of what they can afford to buy there. I did enjoy the creative looks to their items and how scrumptious they looked and it’s clear they work hard on the presentation of their baked goods . We did spend about 55.00 in there so we did try quite a few of their items to be fair . Sausage roll , butter tarts , chocolate eclair , just to name a few.
