Channing Chinese Restaurant

I visited for the first time yesterday with an out of town guest. We went for lunch. It was a terrible day out as Victoria Day weekend typically is in this area. We rarely have beautiful weather so that has an impact on the businesses.
The woman who served us is the owner, I think. Very friendly, professional.
I have no photos to share but I can say we both loved our dishes and there were leftovers to take home. We’ll definitely be back. I will be back for a meal myself.
As a local I’m a bit surprised the restaurant isn’t busier and I prefer a local business to spend my money at rather than the larger , chain wide restaurants.
I highly recommend everyone to try it.

The food was fantastic, lovely place, friendly staff. I'm glad my friend and I decided to try this place out, as we're not from this area.

Great food. As a Chinese, I strongly approve the wok hei of this restaurant. We ended up eating here for every meal during our 3 day stay at Owen sound. Their price is also better than others nearby, though I did overspend a bit on soup due to how good it was. I have to mention their bok choy stir fry, it's probably the best I ever had. I not sure it's the technic of the chef or the choice of the Bok Choy, but it has a very mild bitterness that really enhances the flavor to the next level. Strongly recommend it. FYI, if you are Chinese, ask the owner for recommendations, as some of the foods are tailored to westerner taste and might not suit your liking.

We come to Channing Chinese Food the second we arrive in Owen Sound.
They actually make their own egg rolls ! The chicken balls any way you have them are also hand batteree , everything on the meanie is amazing . It’s a lot of people taking out/delivery but while waiting for our food 3 people picking up or making orders all said the same thing “BEST CHINESE / CANADIAN CUISINE” ever !!!! The owners are super nice and it always makes my husband and mines day to eat or take out from here!

30 of us showed up after a celebration of life, with no notice . The staff did the best they could to accommodate us. Everyone got what they ordered and it was delicious. Thank you!!

Channing has the absolute best Chinese food in Owen Sound. I have been eating here for years and never had food that wasn't amazing! The quality is fantastic and the price reasonable. I miss eating as their dining room closed during covid and I can't wait to eat again in person.

This is a self serve dine is restaurant. Portion of food served was adequate and tasted good. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. On street parking available near the restaurant. The lady who was serving was very courteous. Recommended for their portion of servings.
