The vibe is so warm and inviting, with eclectic decor that feels like a cozy European kitchen. 😊 I ordered the vegetarian omelette, and it was a total game-changer! 🥚🌱 Packed with fresh, vibrant veggies like bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and spinach, it was fluffy, perfectly seasoned, and served with their house-baked multigrain toast that was out-of-this-world delicious. The toast had this amazing crusty exterior and soft, flavorful center. For dessert, I indulged in their date cake—moist, subtly sweet, and bursting with rich, caramel-like flavor. 🍰 Paired with a cappuccino made from their organic, fair-trade coffee, it was pure bliss—frothy, bold, and the perfect balance of creamy and strong. ☕ I was so hungry I dove right in and forgot to take good photos—sorry for the blurry, half-eaten plate pics! 📸😅 The service was outstanding, with friendly staff who kept our table happy and our drinks topped up. 🌟 They even offer a separate gluten-free menu, which is awesome for dietary needs. The prices are so reasonable for the generous portions and top-notch quality. This place is a true gem in Owen Sound—kid-friendly, with a lovely patio for sunny days. I grabbed a loaf of their black and white rye to take home, and it’s honestly some of the best bread I’ve ever had! 🍞 The European Bakery Café is a must-visit for a hearty, flavorful vegetarian breakfast and divine baked goods. 💖 I’m already dreaming of my next visit! A FANTASTIC choice if you appreciate gourmet euro style baking as well as delicious soups and artisanal sandwiches! The incredible Apple Crumble Pie has that distinct flavour profile I remember from my Danish stepmother’s “apple cooken!”
Lunch options and breakfast offerings are also SPECTACULAR! Whether the French Toast or Eggs Benedict or Quiche, etc. excellent plating and ingredients are complimented by superb preparation!

This was our second visit as we enjoyed our self thoroughly the first time. Unfortunately, we were charged $2.50 for three slices of bacon on a two egg breakfast which started at nine dollars. So nine dollars for two eggs and two pieces of sourdough toast no bigger than my hand. My eggs were under done to the point of being wet so I couldn’t even eat them, my husband at what he could of them. My son’s Belgian waffle was so stale that it was difficult to cut though he enjoyed the fact that we had to soak it in maple syrup. My husband’s breakfast was acceptable. We ordered regular coffees to have with our breakfast and partway through were offered “a refresher” Which for me was a half a cup because I only got that far and we’re charged for four. Never experienced that before at a breakfast joint. Certainly if they have special coffees, I would have expected a full charge for the second one but not for a refresher. The service was great, exactly the right amount of attention, which is why I didn’t give it a lower rating. Super disappointed 😔

Went last month for Birthday breakfast with my family. Order a French toast and sausage. It was delicious. Love the vibe and atmosphere. Cannot wait to try dessert for next visit
Another day, another amazing experience at this bakery! While I’ve been to the European Bakery many, many times, I am usually a silent customer and don’t leave reviews. However, my overall experience this time was truly outstanding and I needed to share. Starting off with the wonderful staff members who are extremely welcoming and helpful, which is hard to find these days! I got a vanilla iced latte to drink (which I usually get) and it is consistently amazing everytime. But the real star of the show was the Turkey club sandwich that I ordered for the first time. One of my friends recommended this sandwich to me and said “I NEEDED to try it because it will be my new go-to”. Let me tell you, she was not wrong! The lettuce and tomato were very fresh, and the bread was toasted to perfection, but the turkey was the best part. It was thick and very juicy, clearly a freshly cut piece of meat. While the sandwich was amazing, I wasn’t surprised one bit as this bakery has a wonderful menu filled with delicious meals that are fantastic every time!
