I honestly have never left a review before but after booking afternoon tea back in May 2023 and after flying from NS to meet my family to celebrate my grandmothers 86th birthday and have afternoon tea the owner never emailed or called to let us know she was not going to follow through with our reservation. I chatted for quite sometime months before with her about how important this was, it was not easily accessible to get my grandma to her location and then to be stood up after waiting 30 minutes past our reservation time… wow!She also did not respond until hours later. We were lucky to be in Paris with many other great spots to eat, I really can not believe how unprofessional this was. She did offer to have us for a free afternoon tea again but I came from out of province for this special occasion. This is not a fake review! This was for the May long weekend for 4 people, and I did contact you.

Tried to make reservations here for a friend’s birthday. Judy’s correspondence was initially rude and then became highly abusive and accused me of bullying her because she thought (incorrectly by a long shot I might add) that I’m some 20 year old straight out of school. I have no idea where she got that idea and it shouldn’t matter anyway. In no way was I bullying her, I even acknowledged where my communication could have been more specific and wished her well. I then received two more unsolicited emails from her getting more and more crazy. Had she kept it up it would have verged on harassment. My friends and I went to Abigail’s Tea House which is 20 minutes away in St. George and we had the best time, the food was delicious and the owners are incredible. Do yourself a favour and skip Tea On the Grand and go to Abigail’s.*** UPDATE:So now the owner is leaving lies about me. Not once did I phone this establishment. Our correspondence was strictly over email and not once did she say she was out of the country, but rather told me she had a severe injury to her hand. I had stopped responding to her emails and she emailed me twice more and it was utterly baffling. I still have copies and will happily post them for all to read. I find it very strange that she chose to respond to my review 3 years later and completely fabricate our exchange. I don’t ever delete emails for this very reason.

They were kind enough to do an order for me scones and cakes to go. Scones were ok. The whipped cream stuff tastes like cream cheese almost, unexpected, tasted overwhipped. The cakes were ok. No tea with the scones. Honestly I don't think I would want to sit in there and have high tea. I love cats and have two, but when I was told the cats will run out once the door was opened in the back, not sure if they were in the same area as baking was being done. Lots of cat hair in the entrance. I do know what cat hair is, it wasn't grass. Just OK. But not something I would do regularly, but was doing a day for the ladies and spa day. Thought we would try it. Won't be back after her reply. I realize why she has bad reviews

just OK, but the response on my Google wasn't necessary. I actually changed my review because of her response. I know what cat hair is, and cream tasted overwhipped. but somehow as a customer I'll be the bad guy, or wrong because I originally posted a 3 star review

Judy was a fantastic Host today at Tea on the Grand. The food was spectacular, the tea was absolutely devine. Beautiful atmosphere and really captures the 1850's Era perfectly. She had a gorgeous little siamese cat who came to greet us during tea. I had a beautiful bridal shower this afternoon. Thank you Judy! We will be back again.

I took my girlfriend for a what we thought would be a lovely luncheon…it turned out to be an amazing afternoon of history, great company from Judy, our host, and a delicious luncheon that we thoroughly enjoyed. The ambience of the house, especially after our tour, only made the experience more enjoyable. Our food was a wonderful variety of appetizers, sandwiches, fruits and sweets and to top it off, a lovely cake. Thankyou Judy for such a great afternoon

I highly recommend checking out this businesses Facebook page BEFORE using Judy’s services. Judy is known all throughout Paris for being gossipy, judgemental, rude and childish. She’s first to jump on social media either through her business page or personal page to complain/whine about any and all things that she’s offended about or doesn’t like. If someone mentions they’re disappointment in her services, instead of hearing the constructive criticism and doing her best to make things right or fix whatever’s gone wrong, she gets defensive and just blames their bad experiences on them and takes no responsibility herself. She also likes to get onto Facebook and complain in detail about the customers that she’s had that she doesn’t like for whatever reason. Her attitude is toxic and at some point she should realize that there are tons of complaints about her business and most of them are about her personality, customer service skills and attitude and not about the actual services that she provides. One must realize eventually that if many many people are having the same issue with the same thing… there’s likely some truth to it. If you’d like to avoid being disrespected, having a verbal confrontation and being spoken to poorly on public social media platforms… not to mention having a bad customer service experience then I suggest steering clear of this business.

Booked 24 hours before. Food was excellent and lots of it. Scones, jam and cream. Sandwiches, croissants and wraps, fruit and a beautiful Victoria sponge. Iced tea and tea bags (we brought our own hot water). Will definitely order again.
