Tailwinds is always inviting all year round. Staff are fantastic, food is incredible, and a breathtaking view of Georgian Bay is the icing on top. Cheers from Orillia! This is our go-to spot every time we visit Parry Sound.

The wait was something to be expected but when the couple after you are seated promptly that’s a fluctuation on its own. Especially when the lead waiter says we will seat u shortly Finally seated we are setback with items that when voiced to waiter and waitress it is not available so we find something else to peak our curiosity. I’m not the one to order fish and chips I’m a farmer a beef guy but out of the blue it was taste the feel of being on the water. The food sad tasteless when served appearing overcooked no tartar sauce or how is everything going. Did not finish our meals told the waitress there was about 8 fruit fly’s marinating in the vinegar we got up went to till paid our 70 dollar bill no tip and will never be in the area again since hence we are four hours from home

I've never had the food from here but we have flown on the float planes from this location. Flying over this part of Georgian Bay is incredibly beautiful. I've heard from multiple people that the service and food quality has gone down hill quite a bit.

Absolutely awful experience. We waited 20 minutes just to be acknowledged, then another 15 minutes for drinks and even then, only two showed up. My mother and son didn’t get theirs for another 10 minutes.
We had to repeat our food order five times, and when it finally came out, it was a disaster. The French onion soup tasted like hot water with a hint of beef flavor, absolutely disgusting. The Caesars were just as bad: served with a lemon wedge and missing the basics like a spicy bean, celery, or lime. They had zero flavor. As someone who’s worked in the industry, I know how a proper Caesar should be made, and this was nowhere close.
The rest of the food was no better, a grilled cheese burnt black, cold poutine, my order was completely wrong and he brought me a wrap, and my sister’s meal never even arrived.

To make things worse, the waiter was clearly untrained and spiraling. I actually felt bad for him, he should never have been left alone without proper training or support. The waitresses should have stepped in, and he needed to be shadowed more closely. It wasn’t fair to him, and it certainly wasn’t fair to the customers.

After sitting there for over an hour with wrong and missing food, we finally decided to leave. And the worst part? They still charged us $50 just for the drinks ….drinks that took forever to come, didn’t arrive at the same time because half of them were forgotten and never punched in, and the Caesar wasn’t even what was described on the menu. Beyond frustrating.

This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Unless things change drastically, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I have heard the food is wonderful. We tried twice to go there. Once we couldn't sit where we wanted because they didn't have staff for the other section. The second time we went and sat. We noticed 5 tables all without drinks or food including us. We asked two guys near us how long they have been waiting. They said they ordered their drinks but it's been a while. It looked like there was only one server and she worked the bar as well. We ended up leaving. We are so disappointed management didn't see the value in staffing a beautiful establishment as the Tailwinds.

Very disappointing evening out. Service was terrible right from the start. Should have seen it and never ordered food but we did. Service never improved and after an endless wait the world’s driest burger was served. It was awful. Never an apology or acknowledgement of the crazy long wait. The place was not busy at all. Never a refill of water and drinks. Save your money. There are much better options than this in town.

Service was good. Food was really bad, fries over cooked and burn’t, wings to tough to eat. so much more, to a point that all 6 meals had something wrong with them. Will not be going again or recommend this restaurant.

Sitting on Georgian Bay this location is so desirable to visit. The main patio is only feet from the bay with stunning views. We were lucky enough to have dinner while the sun was setting. Service was quick and friendly. The food was very fair in price and excellent quality and presentation. My wife has the chilli and toast, while I had the Marguerita Flatbread. Both meals were so fresh and portions were generous. We will certainly return and encourage anyone in the area to visit.

The patio has an amazing view of the Bay. It’s pet friendly as well and the hostesses were very friendly with my dogs. However, their food is very sub par. I had the Buffalo Cauliflower and it was so sour, I could barely eat it! Also, for some reason, I was sat much further away from the biew even with open tables and had to ask to be moved. Which was a little frustrating. And the service time was too long. I waited close to 30 minutes for a serving of buffalo cauliflower which wasn’t ideal. All in all, I was very unhappy with the quality of service and the food there.
