Beautiful building and atmosphere - lots of history behind it. The patio has the best view of the sunset horizon and the inside is cozy and inviting. Food was great with lots of options and local fish dishes. Our server, Alana, was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the island itself. We appreciated the tips she gave us and her kind spirit!

In our group of four, there were two with allergies to garlic and onion. Our server Alaina answered numerous questions in helping select something that would work. Then she asked Chef Scott to come to the table to confirm what he could make that would be pleasing. We appreciated their concern for us and for checking on us partway through the meal to ensure we were happy. The pizza chosen (with no tomato sauce, just a mix of veg and cheese) satisfied appetites and was pleasing to the palate. Well done and thank you for taking the time with us. Much appreciated!

What happened to this place??! This place has changed, for the worse. Must be a change in management. Our server was hostile and did the bare minimum required for her job - she didn't even bring water for all at our table (we asked 2x). The manager was highly unpleasant. It took forever to pay our bill. We were each stuck with a 18% forced tip, for the most horrible service I've had in years.
What used to be a pleasant portion of our annual outing to the island became very much a negative (this is my third visit). In the past the staff was very friendly, they would bring out water for my dog without my asking.
The food was meh, not that I had expectations of better, as I've eaten there before. Half of our group had to sit in the hot sun as they didn't have enough umbrellas to go around nor the desire to move them. I was shocked by the attitudes and behaviour.
There is a place that is friendly to humans, friendly to dogs, and has good food right across from the ferry. The vineyard down the street has a limited but tasty selection of flat breads and the like. And can sit in tables under vines.
I do NOT recommend stone house. Hard pass
Now for the disingenuous response from the manager, I'll answer in kind. If I ever have the need to be discriminated, want my friends to be insulted and want to pay for the privilege I'll make sure to visit the stone house.

Had dinner at Stone House 1891 on Pelee Island. The setting is charming, and our server Bruno was friendly and attentive at first. However, service faded toward the end—we had to flag down another staff member just to get the bill.
The food was okay. The perch fish and chips looked good but were a bit too moist inside and lacked crispness. The calamari was decent but slightly rubbery. The pan-fried pickerel was overpowered by the sauce, masking the flavor of the fish.
Beautiful spot, but the meal and overall experience didn’t quite meet expectations.
Delicious food and a great atmosphere! Will definitely be back
Alaina was the most wonderful server we had our entire weekend trip. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and a joy to speak to. We came to eat while waiting for the ferry, and she not only gave great recommendations for the restaurant, but things to do while visiting Kingsville as well. The food and drinks were great, but all of the stars go to our sweet server. Thanks for great service! - your American friends from Chicago :)
Never had a bad meal here. Enjoyed the Baja tacos, sweet potato fries, Pelee Colada and Lake Breeze. Came out quickly and on point. Stone House is always our first stop after the boat ride north from Marblehead, OH! Thanks for the amazing hospitality Canada friends!

We had attentive service and the staff assured us we would not miss the ferry... 😉
It’s not Mackinaw island so don’t get your hopes up. Food was expensive and honestly not all that good. Son ended up with food poisoning from the burger. The fish was not that good but the pulled pork was pretty good. Not worth what it costs but there are not many options on the island.
Best meal we had on the island by far!
Food was generally good. The best we found on the island. Nice patio to be outdoor. Only disappointment was that their pizza oven wasn’t working so that took that option out and we were only told when we ordered it. They should have told us at the entrance.
We were here for lunch the second to last day it was open for the season. They were out of a few items but that’s what the last days look like.
Burger was average and wedges were good, pblt was very nice, pulled pork poutine was very tasty. I ordered the taco salad that’s where it goes wrong. 14$ for the salad I ordered ground beef with it for extra $12
It came there was a 1/2 cup of cooked but unseasoned ground beef on it, that is not a lot for $12 extra, then salad had no dressing no salsa no sour cream. I will give them it was a big salad with corn and beans both from a can or frozen which is fine as well but again nothing seasoned, definitely not seasoned anything like a taco salad . U pointed out it was not dressed I received a tiny to go cup of a green dressing( again not taco tasting at all think it was a green goddess dressing and also I asked for sour cream, both were tiny for giant salad, mixed it up asked for more dressing again tiny cups, I ate half wait staff asked I told them I was very disappointed left half the salad as it was not dressed still. Staff said that’s the first complaint about it that was the end, mine lunch was the most expensive at $26 and left me with a bad taste in my mouth( just a phrase) it actually was super bland salad and should not be called a taco salad!!!
Don’t know if I would return. Definitely don’t order taco salad.
Update
Just found out by reading the last review the taco salad was a issue before and apparently they did not care because they did not do any better when I was there, lower your expectations!
