We were here for lunch the second to last day it was open for the season. They were out of a few items but that’s what the last days look like. Burger was average and wedges were good, pblt was very nice, pulled pork poutine was very tasty. I ordered the taco salad that’s where it goes wrong. 14$ for the salad I ordered ground beef with it for extra $12
It came there was a 1/2 cup of cooked but unseasoned ground beef on it, that is not a lot for $12 extra, then salad had no dressing no salsa no sour cream. I will give them it was a big salad with corn and beans both from a can or frozen which is fine as well but again nothing seasoned, definitely not seasoned anything like a taco salad . U pointed out it was not dressed I received a tiny to go cup of a green dressing( again not taco tasting at all think it was a green goddess dressing and also I asked for sour cream, both were tiny for giant salad, mixed it up asked for more dressing again tiny cups, I ate half wait staff asked I told them I was very disappointed left half the salad as it was not dressed still. Staff said that’s the first complaint about it that was the end, mine lunch was the most expensive at $26 and left me with a bad taste in my mouth( just a phrase) it actually was super bland salad and should not be called a taco salad!!! Don’t know if I would return. Definitely don’t order taco salad.
Update Just found out by reading the last review the taco salad was a issue before and apparently they did not care because they did not do any better when I was there, lower your expectations!

Ordered 3 waters, 2 beers, citrus seafood salad, wings, and a pizza. Waters and beers came after 30 minutes. Only about 6 tables with 2 waitstaff and a manager or whatever. Salad was awesome, wings were meh, and meatlover pizza was underdone, sauceless, and not tasty. When we complained, the response was “ask for sauce on pizza next time”. I want this place to be great, I have a house on the island, have been there probably 8 times, disappointed 5/8. Lots of attention to the physical structure, poor attention to service and food.

Went to Stone house 1891 when travelling to Pelee Island for a girls trip (note it was on a Monday in August).
To start, we were seated and started asking questions to the waitress in regards to drinks and received blunt/rude answers in return. When ordering food they were out of several items. We then asked about the size of one of the salads (we were going to share amongst 4 people), in which we got a short response of 'its a lunch size'.
We ordered 2 pizzas and a taco salad with meat. The pizzas were soggy and the meat on them was sparce and chewy. The taco salad, to add beef was 12 dollars, and the beef was rock hard (appeared to be an old hamburger patty broken up) and was not hot when it came to table. The tomato's and peppers on the salad were soggy.
The beers and views were good- but that's the extent of what we enjoyed at Stone house. The service and food was terrible. With the pricetag on this meal--definitely not worth it!

Very bad experience with pizza ever, Food was not good, rude staff
Showed up a couple hours early for our reservation, had a few drinks and some food. Special Pina is nice, their lager was nice, the seafood dip was very nice. We didn't particularly love the wings, and the service could improve. Nice setting for drinks after a day of touring though. Pizza would have been our choice but no pizza was available today.

Ate dinner there last week with my wife, mom and sister in-law. I ordered the special steak and fries for $38. When the fries are the best part of the meal there's a problem. Steak was ordered med rare and came fairly close to that, more to a medium in my opinion. It was the most boring steak I've had in some time, although easy to eat it lacked flavor. My wife had the chicken parm, the spaghetti was good but the chicken was crusty and dry. My mom had the lasagna with salad, salad lacked dressing but she did get more after asking. The lasagna was dry with not alot of sauce. My SIL had the burger and had no complaints. We had 2- 6oz glasses of white wine and 2 rye and ginger. With tip the bill came to over $200. Definitely would not recommend with these prices, way over priced for what you get. Service was ok at best with waitress being a little grumpy.

Great service! Waitresses are very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, I highly recommend the Baja-Ha Tacos & the chicken fingers. Unfortunately no pizza while we’re here.
