Huge restaurant, not a huge buffet. We went on a Wednesday around 6pm and there were only a few other people there (dinner buffet starts at 4pm). Buffet selection was ok but none of the dishes were particularly good. Chicken balls had a lot of breading and chicken was overcooked and chewy. Mushrooms were shrivelled up and obviously sitting there for a long time. I didn't like the egg rolls either. Chicken wings and shrimp skewers were decent. Service was prompt and friendly. $22.50 for dinner buffet. We won't be back.

We knew this was my mom’s “go to” place for Chinese in Pembroke so when it came time to feed the crew at her 80th birthday party, we chose New Star. What we didn’t know was how well we’d be treated (the owner is fantastic - he helped us with themenu AND saved us money!) and how good and hot the food would be! (the Lo Mein noodles were the hit but it all was delicious!). If you’re in the Valley and have a craving for Chinese food, look no further than New Star!

Fresh veg and meats, nicely prepared, and attractively presented as a buffet. Wonton soup was tasty with large pump wontons. It was obvious from client conversations with the owner that he knew most of the locals and they were regular repeat customers. Highly recommended. Buffet was low $20
