First time trying this place I was gonna get a gyro the guy said to try the 50/50 gyro meat and chicken I moved up here from Niagara falls with lots of gyro places this one was the best the staff was nice Definitely going back

Let me just say—wow. I haven’t had Greek food this authentic since our family vacation to Greece five years ago. We stumbled into Pita Shack on a whim during a Saturday afternoon shopping trip in Pembroke, and I’m so glad we did. From the first bite, I was transported right back to that little taverna we loved in Nafplio.
I ordered the chicken souvlaki wrap, and it was absolutely bursting with flavour. The tzatziki was garlicky and fresh, the tomatoes were ripe, and the pita was warm and pillowy—just like in Greece. My husband got the gyro plate, and he couldn’t stop raving about how tender and well-seasoned the meat was. Even our picky teenager devoured her spanakopita and said, “This tastes like that place we went to by the beach in Greece.” High praise!
The staff were so friendly and warm, and the whole place has a cozy, family-run feel that just makes you want to linger. It’s clear they take pride in their food.
If you’ve been to Greece and are craving the real thing—or even if you’ve never been and want a taste of it—do yourself a favour and go to Pita Shack. It’s the real deal.

Pita Shack is a legacy family restaurant here in our beautiful riverside town of Pembroke. More than worth the short walk from parking, these folks serve up fresh, delicious food in a seriously gracious way! Love the natural wood interior—it’s the perfect spot to stop after spending time at the waterfront or hiking through the bush. Absolutely amazing!

Recently visited Pita Shack in Pembroke with my daughter, and it was fantastic! We were spoiled with cheese on our crispy fry poutine, and my chicken gyro had my mouth watering. We dined in and were treated so well—friendly staff, fun environment, clean booths, and it was busy! It's no surprise with the excellent customer service and amazing food. Highly recommend!
If I were granted a last meal---it would be the Pita Shacks' Shake salad with chicken!!! Absolutely divine! Paul, Sophie and their Team are the best! I have been going for almost 10 years and NEVER EVER tired of the amazing food
