First time customer, I called for a pre order and he was happy to take my order. He was friendly and still busy with customers. My order was ready and hot. Great service, great food.

We were visiting Chapeau from BC and stopped for a poutine at Ry's Fries. They were delicious!! On the side of the highway with plenty of parking out front.

My mother and I ate here June 7th, 2025 around noon. The fries are cooked perfectly, and I would say the best in town. There was a ton of curd on the poutine, and the gravy is awesome. The young man working there was genuinely kind, he smiled, he went out of his way to ensure we had all we needed, and quite frankly, if I owned a place like that I would try to recruit him. Cant wait to go back and try your burgers next.

We ordered a medium and large fry with salt and vinegar. Now not sure how this works but when my spouse took his fry out of the bag it was served in it was the same size as my medium fry. And let’s talk about my medium fry, seemed much more like a small to me, and I eat at chip trucks all the time so I know my sizing. In regards to the fry’s, they were nicely cooked. However, after a very long day of being out in a field and when my spouse went and ordered he told us 10 minutes. After hearing the cost which was 21.00 just for two plain fries my spouse was already ready to leave and cancel until buddy said 10 minutes. But it wasn’t no 10 minutes that’s for sure. We sat there waiting exactly 25 minutes for two fries. My spouse and I went inside after about 18 minutes and stood inside which seemed to piss off the guy working (hopefully not the owner). He asked if we wanted anything else and a few moments later after we said no just waiting he angrily closed the one window and seemed to be walking around with a huge scowl on his face. I went back out to the car however while my spouse remained inside waiting he experienced the guy cooking to be cursing and freaking out over not being able to go for a smoke break and how it was “bullshit”. When we arrived there you could feel the tension in the air and the lady working there seemed to hide at the door to the back. So now after the cost, how little we received, and the horrible service I don’t think we will be returning despite the fries being quite good. We could have went home and made fries faster and cheaper and with no poor service.

Food was good, portions are small for the price. So if youre a big eater like me, definitely go for the bigger size poutine or fries. The Burger was phenomenal and the service is great, the wait wasnt too long either. Overall a good experience

Staff were nice. Poutine was only ok. Good fries, but there were cold spots due to the curds, and usually chip truck mediums are pretty big so this was more like a small.

Visiting the Ottawa Valley from British Columbia each summer we dream all year about this poutine. Fresh cheese curds, delicious, perfectly crisp and soft fries. Scrumptious gravy. Ohhh my. Not going to lie we hit this place up 2-3x each time we are home - soooo good. Highly recommend!
