I would choose this place over Mandarin. to my opinion, it has the best Chinese food in the Valley. I come here often and always the food is very tasty and delicious. my picky husband loves their food and once and in a while would crave for Chinese food from Shanloon. staff are kind and friendly. the building might be old but the food is fantastic!

I recently placed a large order totaling over $150 from this restaurant, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.
One of the main items we ordered was advertised as pepper steak. However, upon receiving and tasting the dish, it was clearly pork — not beef steak as any reasonable customer would expect from that description. When I called to clarify, I was met with an unprofessional and dismissive response. The staff member said, “I don’t make the food,” and showed no concern or accountability for the serious mislabeling.
While I personally do eat pork, this could have been a major issue for someone with dietary restrictions, allergies, or religious prohibitions. The lack of care and the indifference to correcting a potentially harmful mistake is unacceptable for any establishment in the food service industry.
Restaurants have a responsibility to clearly advertise what they are serving and to take ownership when something goes wrong. I sincerely hope this business reconsiders how it handles customer feedback and food labeling — especially when trust and safety are on the line.

Went here for the 1st time with my family. We are new to the area and have been trying different restaurants. I’m surprised this place is still even open, food was awful to say the least, the rice was so dry, the spring rolls tasted like Indian food, everything was dry, overcooked, bland and questionable. They serve green onions and the chips you put in wonton soup out of a Tupperware container! The desserts were all grocery store bought… ah caramel, billot logs, twinkies! Like are you kidding me!! The jello had no sheen to it at all. Restaurant is old, dirty and rundown. Our waitress was nice which is why they even get a star. Shame on Pembroke for supporting this restaurant!! For the money they charge for this disgusting food they should get a new sign out front too.

Standard Chinese buffet. Food was as expected. Restaurant itself was old and could use some TLC. Dessert selection was below standard and consisted of two ice cream flavours, jello, and Twinkie’s.

This family run buffet was great, the food was good and the service was friendly and fast. Nice selection and tasted like good Asian food to me.

Very poor services we waited 10 minutes for the waitress to come over she poured our water asked what we would like to drink then waited another 10 min for our drinks. A little pricey Back after a few years and really gone down hill. Save my money by not coming back.

We went in around 5:30 for dinner. The food is always fresh and tasty. The batches are rotated as they replenish as the patrons eat. We spent about $26 per person with just the dinner buffet, no drinks. The only reason I gave just 4 stars for the atmosphere is that the building is a little dated.
