We have had great experiences at Bar Vista including Live Music that adds so much to the aosphere. Food and service always fantastic. Definately will be back. Downtown parking can be a challenge but the Hunter st. lot is just around the corner. Bill.

I typically don't leave negative reviews because experiences are different for everyone. But this one was a pricey outing that left me so disappointed. The interior was elegant and 100% matched my expectations. Our server was very nice and attentive. Appetizers and drinks came in fast and were delicious. Then we noticed a large group of people sitting together which quickly turned into a revolving door of smokers. We were seated close to the main door and pretty much our entire time ended up getting freezing blows of wind (it's end of Dec) and constant smoke of weed. I'm not saying you can't smoke, but assuming the owner and staff have seen this before, maybe an alternative could be possible for patrons that smoke. It took over an hour between when we ordered our dinner to when the food came. That was way too long, even for a busy place. So for an hour we sat and endured cold air and constant smell of weed (sometimes reg smoke). Two people at our table ordered steaks, they were pretty good. I had a sald and lobster mac and cheese. Salad was 10/10. I love lobster and order it quite often, this was not a good lobster, it had a very strong fishy smell and the pasta was definitely overcooked and very mushy. Maybe our expectations were too high, but when you spend +$400 for 3-person meal, I think you are entitled to a better experience. We live 45 minutes away and don't mind driving further to a good restaurant, but unfortunately this was not our experience.

Excellent food and service. Hannah, our server was delightful and very attentive. My husband had the ribeye which was flavourful, juicy and cooked perfectly rare. I had the chicken carbonara which was delicious. Booth seating was a little uncomfortable as the bench seat padding and fabric was thin and worn. Seat depth was a bit shy but the booth option is quieter and more private. We very much look forward to returning again soon.

The food was outstanding and the service superlative. Everything was excellent from start to finish. The bar & restaurant had a "Cheers" like welcoming atmosphere. I'll be back!

Wonderful ambience, great date night, good cocktails and service was stellar. Gnocchi top notch but chicken parm only so-so for the price, can make better at home. Definitely will go back to sample the other choices

Decided to give Bar Vita a try tonight and we are so glad we did. From the moment we arrived we felt the old Johnnie Vino vibe which we had thoroughly enjoyed. Our server tonight was Taylor who was very professional, pleasant and provided just the right amount of attention. The food from start to finish was wonderful and in line with Chef Steve's prior creations that we have enjoyed at various locations thru the years. Topping it off with my wife's favourite dessert ((Tartufo) and the dinner ended on a high note. All in all a great experience that we hope to repeat soon.

Delicious meal again. Loved tut mushroom soup too. Scallops done to perfection in Gorgonzola Our server Megan was full of knowledge and very attentive.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Bar Vita and will be back ! Music was just the right noise level. We could listen and enjoy but also talk to each other. Steve is a terrific Chef and we always enjoy his food !

We had initially planned an indoor dinner because the weather on Sunday was hot and humid. Unfortunately, the temperature inside the restaurant wasn't very comfortable either it felt like the AC wasn't working properly. We just wanted to share that feedback in case it helps for future visits or events. Thanks for understanding!
We had a wonderful experience at Bar Vita in Peterborough. The food was absolutely fantastic—everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Our server was amazing, attentive, and made us feel very welcome.
The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that there were some very loud guests in the restaurant during our visit. It took away a bit from the fine dining atmosphere and made it feel more like a busy local bar at times.
Other than that, everything was excellent, and I’d still recommend it to anyone looking for great food and service.
