Big Ben's Fish and Chips

Fish was haddock was ok but the fries were soft and oily a sign of old oil. I will be looking for a new location to eat fish

Was in town overnight at nearby motel, felt like fish & chips so walked to Ben's . Good food but was disappointed when opened up takeout order to find a wooden fork. Really that ship has sailed, throw that crap out and buy some plastic utensils. Luckily I was able to source a decent fork from motel. Otherwise the special of day was good choice, the coleslaw is not my favorite style but I did eat it all.

Absolutely love this place! The food is always delicious and fresh! The restaurant is always very clean! The portions are soo big and filling. And the service is the best I’ve ever had.

PS the rice pudding was incredible!

The wife picked up fish and chips on her way home from work. Fish and chips were excellent but what they pass for coleslaw need rework. Just all around bad.

Kudos to the staff working today! (Good Friday) They were polite and courteous on the phone, and had a smile when I arrived to pick up my order. Even with an extremely busy day.

My husband and I tried to go to dinner here last Friday. I’m a curvy girl and the tables that are two seaters to the right when you enter the restaurant are too close to the table for me to sit comfortably. We chose to sit down on the left at a four seater but before I could sit down a woman yelled over to say sit at a two seater and I said I don’t fit there and the looks I got from her were insensitive to say the least. I decided that I’m not staying here for dinner and I’m not coming back either without this woman having the sensitivity training as she clearly needs it.

I love this restaurant. I've been coming here for several years, and it is one of the best fish and chip restaurants in the Kawarthas!! The staff are friendly, and the owners are terrific.

Our favourite Fish and chips restaurant in Ontario! However we were disappointed today with the fries don’t know if it’s the potatoes as we are having problems finding good tasting ones.
The waitress didn’t ask why we left most of our fries.
Otherwise still our favourite just change the fries back if possible.
