Excellent bakery. We ordered an assortment of scones and tarts for our micro-wedding and were extremely happy with the experience. Everything in the box was delicious – and larger than expected, so we had plenty left over – but the rhubarb frangipane tarts were truly outstanding. Communications and pickup were both easy (a real relief when you’re planning a last-minute event). I’d drive in from Toronto just to come back.
This is the best bakery within 100km. The sourdough is baked with incredible skill, and the rest of the loaves are just as good. Pastries and baked goods are amazing, and the croissants are done so well.
This is better than 95% of the bakeries in Toronto and is probably the most special place in Peterborough. There is a reason why there's always a lineup here.
Always fantastic baked goods and service. And when picking up it is such a comfort when the front of house staff are masked .
The best bread in the city. Especially their more dense/seedy offerings.
Always stocked with variations of sour dough, simple and delicious recipes, can also get it pre sliced. I keep mine in the freezer and it thaws well.
Hands down, this is my favorite bakery in town.
Their white sourdough bread is the best that I have tasted 😊 only problem is that it won’t last long. We finished it in 2 days
Delicious Sour Dough Bread at reasonable prices with good quality ingredients. Best local bakery in Town. So Fresh!

A French boulangerie and sour dough emporium on Hunter St east in Peterborough, a rival to the best Montreal has to offer, and Hard Winter even imports St.Viateur bagels from Montreal while rumoured to have made their own perfected Montreal bagels when they began. The bread line on Saturday morning is legendary worth a short doc. All that might be lacking is a space outside to enjoy tartine with their New Zealand butter and confiture.

The best bakery.
Potato Cheddar Bread? 10/10.
Scones? Name a flavour combo they’ve put together that isn’t the best. You can’t.
Quiche? Perfect for days I skip breakfast.
Brownies? Nothing better.
Staff? Perfection. Fun, kind, attentive.
This place is gold.
