Had the Halibut & chips. Nice large piece of fish and so many chips l could only eat half of them. Good service and l wouldn't hesitate to eat there again. I've eaten at both Purveys locations and both consistent quality. Both Halibut and Haddock are excellent. Haddock is cheaper and tastes just as good as the Halibut. Please support your local businesses and if possible get your Flu shot or Booster and lets protect each other!! 🇨🇦 🍁
Ordered 1 pce to go, ended up being the smallest pce of fish I've ever seen there. Paid $7.50. Beware of decrease in fish size. I called he said all the same size, bull, because eating in you get huge pieces. Some young guy not the same fella that is usually there. Very bold on phone too. Beware ordering by takeout.
Bought just a fish sandwich total was almost $10. 2 Stars because of cheap Bun,and small piece of fish with no taste. Because of the cheap Bun, the sandwich became soggy with tartar sauce and fall in part. The service was good.
Ordered a family dinner last night when ordering we asked for extra lemons go pick up our order and again asked for a lot of lemon get home to my surprise two tiny peices of lemon haha what a joke.
Hot and fresh. A great portion of fish and chips. Friendly casual service.
When looking online at your Chemong rd hours, it states in 3 spots Sunday 1100 to 800 pm
We drove into town to discover that at 330 pm the store was closed . Well that was a waste of our time and gas .You need to go onto your online sites and correct that !!
Called 3 times both locations nobody knows how to answer a real phone any more stupidty
Love this spot!
I made the mistake of asking for halibut instead or haddock not realizing the difference. This made the price go up, however they understood my mistake when I arrived confused and were very nice about it even going beyond and comping me some of the price even though it was MY mistake! Very good service and they were very nice. The food was also good! Normally when I get fish and chips from most restaurants its tough to chew in some parts, never had that issue here!
P.S. Order the special! Dont make my mistake! They cant comp us all for our mistakes!
Small restaurant, good food
People mostly ordering take out orders

We'll, sorry to all the Peterborough Expats.
Have to do this again to celebrate Thanksgiving weekend.
So glad to be able to enjoy my favorite Fish & Chips that dad used to bring home, on a pretty regular basis, from Jeff Purvey's, across from CGE, when he was done on a Friday night, circa 1969.....
Think he had a couple beers there, while waiting for our order! 🙂
@ Dean Koola from Greenlawn Ave, still professionally pulling off the same product; at Purvey's Chemong.
Thanks, Dean Koola....
Awesome tonight!

The batter and the quality of the fish are good. The problem, is everything else turns it to average. If they would make their own tarter sauce, seafood sauce, it would move them to a 4 or 5. I ordered calamari, they were so uniform, I don't think they battered it themselves. I think they are just frozen. Certainly not what was pictured on their website. Service was super fast. Very pleasant. Ask for the fries to be cooked longer to be crisper. Decent, but if they did homade sauces it would take them higher.
