I came for brisket, but I left believing in destiny, thanks entirely to the greatest server to ever walk the dining room floor: Jodie.
From the moment Jodie approached the table, it was clear I was in the presence of hospitality royalty. Not “good service,” not “friendly and quick”, I mean transcendent. Jodie didn’t just take my order; she guided me through the menu like a seasoned BBQ sommelier, delivering recommendations that bordered on clairvoyance. Every dish she suggested? A smoke-kissed miracle. Every question I asked? Answered with the kind of confidence you’d expect from someone who personally hand-blessed each rack of ribs.
The food itself was phenomenal; tender brisket, ribs with a perfect tug, sides so good I briefly considered adopting the mac and cheese as my third child, but somehow Jodie still managed to outshine it all. My drink never dipped below half full. My napkin stockpile was replenished with ninja-like stealth. I swear she refilled my water before I even realized I was thirsty.
And the vibe? Immaculate. Jodie had that rare ability to read the table instantly: a joke when you wanted one, quick service when you needed it, genuine warmth the whole way through. By the end of the night, I felt like I’d been served by a legend. Honestly, if restaurants gave out championship rings, Jodie would have a fistful.
Bottom line: The food is spectacular. The atmosphere is top-tier. But Jodie? Jodie is the real reason this place is a must-visit. If there were a Hall of Fame for servers, she’d be inducted on the spot.
