Just had lunch here a few days ago and was SO impressed! The decor and vibes are perfect along with a sweet collection of S&P shakers. The variety of sandwich options here is insane. I was particularly impressed by their vegetarian options! I had the Vegetarian Boyfriend and the potato salad and it was fire. Great spot!
We were visiting Peterborough for the weekend for my son's hockey tournament and I was excited to try this place based on the reviews and the menu. I love a good corned beef sandwich. The sandwich was good but not great. Instead of being slices of corned beef it was like it was shredded corned beef and it just didn't work very well with the sandwich. So the sandwich was just okay. They have macaroni and potato salad and I wanted to try both so they were nice enough to give me half serving of each and both were excellent of the potato salad definitely won out between the two. I would definitely try it again I would probably just try another sandwich. They have lots of different options the corned beef just wasn't for me the way it was served.

Great sandwich! They cure their meats in house, and you can tell. The sandwiches are freshly prepared after you order, and served with a juicy pickle. I got the cuban on gluten free bread.
When talking with a local we said we went to a sandwich shop for dinner, and she asked which one. When we said Sam’s place, she said “Oh that’s the good one” and we knew we made the right choice.

Dietary restrictions: They don’t have a dedicated gluten free grill, but the guy working said they usually put the gluten free bread on one side. The gluten free bread was good and didn’t fall apart, but was definitely smaller than a regular sandwich.
Parking: Paid parking lot on the side of the building.

Best sandwich place in Earth!! Im not even exaggerating. Ace of Spades is a must. Used to study there, and moved back to Montreal, can’t find another sandwich place as good as Sam’s Place.

Waited 50 minutes for food that never came. Floors were sticky and their was flies all over the place. Do not waste your time at this place go elsewhere where the staff are capable of placing an order and actually delivering the food. Extremely disappointed, steer clear and avoid the frustration.

We did the take out / catering option for 2 trays of sandwiches. When I called in, the person taking the order was not friendly at all and seemed annoyed when I asked if we could have all meat sandwhiches (no egg / veggie / vegan) as that's normally what isn't included for catering, but that they could alter it.
When my dad picked up the order, he said the employee was also rude and short to him... When we got the trays home, they did not include all meat sandwiches like I had specificallly asked, and had the egg, veggie and vegan included... All the sandwiches were very flat, not a lot of toppings or big stack of meat. I was surprised after hearing so many good reviews on their food, it was a let down.
The sandwhiches were still good, just very underwelming, and annoyed that they didn't in fact follow our order? Which I had spoke to a friend and they had the same thing happen to them for take out with them not following what they ordered...
Not sure if the service and food is better to dine in vs take out maybe? Would love to try it again and see, but so far not a great experience...

Just had another incredibly delicious bowl of Sam's Borscht. If you like Borscht, you need to try Sam's. I live in Bowmanville and would drive to Peterborough just to get a bowl.

Server messed up order three times, had to go to the counter three times, four meals brought out separately, first done long before fourth "Hotdogs!!!", food was all cold (dog tasted bad) poutine dog all cold, couldn't eat. I think worst restaurant experience in our life from beginning to end. On top of it place felt like a freezer. No idea how it gets 5 stars, drunk students looking for a filler I'm guessing

Great food! We loved sitting on the sidewalk patio. Lots of wasps joined us but not much you can do to stop that. Fresh ingredients make each sandwich so tasty. Service was a little slow but the wait was worth it.
