Had an awful experience with this restaurant today. I ordered the meatloaf and it was the most disgusting thing I had ever eaten in my life. It also not only tasted disgusting but looked disgusting. This was not meatloaf in any way so please avoid

Couldn’t order anything as the bartender was no one where to be seen. We waited about ten minutes and I asked another patron if they knew where the bartender was. He said he was waiting as well but he thought it was this woman who was having a conversation across the room. We waited a few more minutes. At this point she had been talking to this person for over 15 minutes. I moved to stand at the end of the bar so I could be sure I was seen. The server eventually came over and my friend told her he’d like a cowbell beer. She put her hand in his face and told him she had something to do and we had to wait. She then walked off. We left. It was the worst service I have received in Peterborough and I grew up in the area. I brought my friend from New York here -and like the live music at the black horse. Will never go again. If you like good live music and rude, dismissive and possibly inebriated bartenders then do go. Otherwise there are other places with great music and polite and hospitable servers. We didn’t get the servers name. She was tall. With big rings and a black wig.

Based on reviews we decided to drive a distance to visit the pub on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, the server was incredibly rude to us. She was not rushed, the place was quiet, so we couldn’t figure out why she treated us so badly. Our requests were basic. We were cheerful, (happy to be on a road trip) and friendly. But every question was meet with disdain. It was so uncomfortable we couldn’t wait to get out of there and away from her callous treatment. It’s unfortunate because were enjoying the music. I rarely write reviews, but when I looked up and saw the sign out front - ‘The friendliest place in town’ - I felt compelled to comment. I had so many fond memories of Peterborough, now tarnished by the ‘unfriendliest place in town’.

The Bison Burger tastes like a less flavourful & less juicy beef burger.
I obviously prefer the beef patty but I really value trying the Bison Burger at least once. If I were to buy the Bison Burger, it has to be a different burger where they add unique ingredients to it & make it different in taste. Otherwise, I prefer the beef taste better. It'd richer & juicier. This one had less juiciness to it. I don't know if it's the way it was cooked or the patty itself. Service is alright, workable. I love the music here & the chef was very friendly. Happy to have ate here.

Stopped by this place cause of the live music that we heard. And all I must say is that everything, from the food, staff, atmosphere was just amazing! They have musicians coming in playing live music for you, which you don’t see in a lot of places nowadays. I got the Tuscan chicken with rice and vegetables. For someone who barely finishes her food I managed to eat everything! I hands down recommend this place to everyone!

Stopped by this pub as we were heading back to Toronto and it was definitely worth the visit. Great live music and customer service. My family and I enjoyed our meals, everything was great ! I got the cheeseburger and it was definitely 10/10! We will for sure be back whenever we visit Peterborough again.

Went to Black Horse pub with my family for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed our time and meal. There was live music to keep us entertained and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Chicken Parm and it was delicious! The owners provided great customer service and ensured everything was up to satisfaction. I would definitely recommend this restaurant/pub to everyone
