Not a good place to eat. The food looked like muck and I got sick afterwards, as if they poured a bunch of salt and food colouring with it.
The restaurant literally looked like a jail, quite depressing in there. I'm not sure how this place continues to stay in business, but I hope they do change.

Avoid Lunch Buffet at Pickering location specially after 1 pm as atmosphere will slow down and food won't be fresh.

I had an incredible experience at Dal Roti in Pickering. The food was absolutely delicious, with authentic, vibrant flavors that instantly reminded me of India. Each dish was perfectly seasoned, full of depth and warmth, just like home-cooked meals. A special thanks to Chef Arvind, whose skill and passion for cooking are evident in every bite. Not only is he an incredibly talented chef, but he’s also very humble and welcoming. If you’re looking for authentic Indian cuisine in Pickering, Dal Roti is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return and try more of Chef Arvind’s amazing creations!

The first issue was with the pani puri. The water was excessively salty, and even after it was replaced, the problem remained—it was still too salty to consume.
Secondly, the pakoda lacked flavor. Once it cooled slightly, it became completely tasteless.
As per service, Server was trying best to catch up, but at the end it was okay.
Overall, the main course was enjoyable, and all the sabjis were well-prepared. However, the chaat and other appetizers did not meet expectations.

Much like the not so positive reviews given, watch this review go by without a response from the owner.
Hi Owner, note to you people aren't always gunna say nice things if your service sucks and moreover you need to treat the bad reviews by confronting mine and the below negative reviews received at least by advising what changes are being implemented. Let's point out some key aspects.
1) The service sucks
2) The menu isn't that broad or varied where by the dollar value worth the money. Menu items are highly overpriced
3) The owner - Speaking infront (ill) of customers in a language other than English, I'm sorry to think how ignorant you are to Toronto's multi-cultural community. We understand you and if you wanna take the edge, take it off in your kitchen where all the wonders of quality and service of your restaurant happen (I'm being completely sarcastic. There is nothing good about this place).
4) Last point.. Did I mention your restaurant sucks? Service and food quality. There can be better places opened instead of this place.
Thank you Owner for reading this review. I'm glad you will be atypical and ignore the above. Look forward to hearing from you (or not I should say).

I would not recommend the Pickering location. I ordered a pickup and found the experience disappointing. The food quality was below expectations — both the lacha parantha and naan were undercooked, and the chicken and paneer gravies lacked flavor. Considering the restaurant’s price point, the minimum expectation is properly cooked and flavorful food. There are definitely better options in the area that offer greater value and a better overall experience.

By far the best tasting Indian food I’ve had in Canada so far (almost 9 years of living here). It is a bit pricey, but totally worth it!
You won’t regret dining here.
