Ordered a take-out Halibut dinner with chips on Tuesday and the fish was obviously cooked the day before – stale and almost inedible. Fries were cooked nicely but paid almost $20 for a dinner that I couldn't eat!! Usually the food at other Halibut House Fish & Chips locations is great but this one needs a new chef.

This is the best fish and chip restaurant ive ever been to. The fish and fries are so so good and so clean looking, you can tell they use very clean oil. Nothing is ever greasy as well, unlike many fish places. Look in the photo how clean the oil must be to have such clean looking fish and chips

I've been a patron to this location since it opened, and if a plate of quality fish and chips is your fancy, you won't be disappointed. Coleslaw rocks, stay with the haddock or halibut and the fries are always fresh. 5 star because they usually hit every point, sometimes it's a little cold in the dinning room but meh, food first! Owners and staff are always smiling, not sure what else is needed to create a great experience. 😁👍

Thin slice of Halibut with tons of batter. I won’t be going here anymore. Felt really ripped off! It’s like they took a regular sized halibut steak sliced it in half and double dipped it in the batter.

The food is ok. The portion was not as big as I expected for the price. I’ve had better fish n chips.

I got here quite often for fish and chips. They have a decent sitting area, their fish and chips are good, the people are nice. THere isn’t much to complain about it in my opinion.

I decided to place an order with Halibut House (Pickering location) over the phone (because there is no online ordering option).

I went to your website and called up the CORPORATE (not individual store) menu so that I was sure about what I was ordering.

I decided to order the HALIBUT – 5 FISH – LARGE CHIPS – 2 COLESLAW – 5 CAN POP $90

When I called to pre-order for pickup, I was told that this location does not honour the 5 cans of pop that is on the CORPORATE MENU but still insists on charging $90!

Based on YOUR menu pricing, I am being cheated out of $10.

I find that this type of independent “nickel and diming” of customers to be unacceptable.

I ordered a halibut and chips with coleslaw on a Saturday afternoon for takeout. It wasn’t busy and the hostess did a great job of welcoming me and was fast and efficient. When I went home to eat the halibut, it was so thin it was hard to even tell if it was halibut or cod. Additionally, the batter was as thick as the fish. The fish and fries were hot but the fries were completely overcooked. The coleslaw was yummy and tasted the same as what I’m used to from this establishment. Very disappointed. This was my go-to fish and chips location. I’ll be trying out other local restaurants in the future.

Cod was tasty and very large. Fries and cole slaw were good. Server was friendly and fast.

This restaurant published inaccurate prices on the screens in the restaurant. When I notified the staff about the error on our order they refused to fix the price, provide us with a discount to amend it or offer any correction to this. I am extremely disappointed. This is not a proper business practice and I will not be returning. I do not recommend patroning this location.
