It's a dinner theatre show venue... Google their site for full details. Piano player during dinner, joined by singer guitar player until the show begins. Closing end of summer after 50 years in business. Go enjoy it before it's too late!

I want to thank all the staff and actors for a great experience. My PROBUS group attended the theatre this past Sunday, we had a wonderful time. Food was good, wait staff was attentive and the play was very funny. My only criticism was the difficulty getting my mobility challenged friend into the theatre. We were not prepared for that.

Great place for a different, pleasant experience. Was lots of fun. Dinner was very good and the play was hilarious. Actors were excellent! Seats were a little tight.

One of the jewels of Durham region! Dinner and theatre night. Great food, staff is fantastic, attentive and welcoming. Food is made in house and is fresh and flavourful. The whole vibe is great. Try something new and visit for a pretty cool dinner and theatre experience. Theatre show is the cherry on top after an evening of dinner, drinks, live music and great conversations.

The food, first of all was amazing! The staff, so nice ❤️ Unfortunately I had to leave at first intermission due to my daughter calling and needing me but I will be returning. The owners are so sweet. Very quaint and a very cute elderly crowd. Great entertainment and a nice night out ❤️❤️❤️

2-hour buffet style meal followed by 2-hour live stage performance, situated in a converted barn full of old, rustic charm. When we visited during March Break 2023, bread and salad were brought to our table and staff served the main courses at the kitchen counter; a good bar menu is available. Food was all prepared on-site; home style cooking and very delicious. There is live piano, guitar and singing performance. Theatre is on the second floor (stair access) and sits up to about 100 people. We enjoyed the Savannah Sipping Society very much. All actresses performed with great humour, passion and attention to details. My 8-year-old watched the entire show without complain and rated it one of his top favourite places. We plan to return for the next show.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!! It was our first time going there and certainly will not be our last!!! We're going to be regulars there!!! From the minute you walk in the hospitality rolls right up to you with the pleasant voices, smiles and pure love. It's Real. Seriously Real. Our host, Kelly was just wonderful and we were blessed to have her taking care of us. The ambiance, the country feel, the atmosphere is like a giant hug. We went for my wife's birthday and we were both in moments of joyful years multiple times because of the feel of this place. It was pure love poured into the whole thing. The food..... ? Phenomenal beyond the scope of what you expected!!!! The four style salad was just fresh and loads of flavour. The meal was classic roast beef (medium rare ???) complete with potatoes, veg mix, rice and also there was fish and chicken as alternatives. Nothing dry, everything done to the utmost care and perfection!! Desserts that melt in your mouth AND it's a buffet!!! Stuff yourself right over if you want!!! A nice drink selection and flavour explosions over the clouds!!!! During dinner we were entertained by a gentleman on piano and he was just magnificent, then joined by another gentleman on acoustic guitar (The Singing Policeman!? for those who watched the Uncle Bobby show!) Songs of memories and fun and totally singalong tunes!! Then after dinner, you go upstairs and watch a stage show which I think it's with people who work at Herongate and maybe others. Film noir style fun, classic stage entertainment and light fun with a jovial presentation of just great acting and beautiful sets in the background. It was so beautiful to be a part of it. And for the most part, not a cell phone in sight for the evening!!! It takes you back to a simpler time and Abbbbbsolutely romantic for us!!! We loved the people there and the show and the food. Can't wait to go back!!!! The experience you get at Herongate takes you to a totally different place in the world and you're in a room full of people all having a great time but we were the only two people in there, it was beautiful ❤️❤️

I was looking for something different, unique and charming, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This dining place, converted dairy farmhouse, happened to get my attention. Indeed very cozy with a lot of character, offering very good food and live music as well as a live stage performance. All in rather unique, easy going way, but very entertaining. We like it and will be going there in the future.

The food and service is always good and the piano player and soloist/ guitarist adds to the fun ambience. The plays are always adult humor and the cast us professionally good. The climb to the barn theatre and the seats are not very comfortable. I am 70+ years old.

We have been coming for years and have always loved the experience from start to finish. The theatre is small and intimate. There are no obstructions or bad seats. There are two seating areas. The first three rows are comfy and we always request them as we are tall people and they offer more leg room. . The plays are terrific and the owners are fabulous and accommodating. The food is generally good but this last time, it was disappointing. Not up to the standards we have come to enjoy. I hope it was an anomaly and we will be back to give it a second chance. ( anyone can have an off day). We love Herongate!!!
