Jack Astor's Bar & Grill Pickering

While I genuinely love this restaurant overall, I avoid this particular location because the customer service is consistently disappointing. The only reason I came this evening was because the restaurant we originally planned to go to was closed, so I decided to give this location another chance.

Upon arrival, the hosts were lovely in their greeting. However, it took over 15 minutes for our server to come and greet us—long enough that the manager had to step in and take our order. When the server finally did arrive, she took our order but never returned to check in or bring our food. I also asked for a glass of water, which took over 20 minutes to arrive. I eventually had to ask another staff member—who was cleaning tables—to bring it, because the server never followed through.

I genuinely cannot stand poor customer service, especially at a well-known and reputable establishment like this. This is your friendly reminder to raise the standard of service at this location. Your guests deserve better.

Savian was our server and he was fantastic start to finish. He was attentive, engaged with everyone at the table, spoke to the 8 year old like he was a human being and allowed him to order his own meal. We loved that. Savian came by to check on us without making us feel like he was there too often. He made great suggestions, and he was timely. Overall, a fantastic experience. He deserves a raise!

My son, daughter and my husband came here tonight for dinner. The food was excellent and my server Chris was extremely friendly and welcoming. The last time the service was terrible. Whenever I come to this location I will definitely want to be served by Chris. Thank you Chris for your awesome service tonight.
