We were having fish and chips at a different place when a patron suggested Jasper's. I am really glad we tried it but will never go again. The fish looked like it was a large portion however most of it was batter. I am really amazed at how people say the "chips" are good, really? I was there on a Friday afternoon, the place was fairly busy, so it's unlikely the chips were old, but somehow it tasted awful. $18 for haddock and half chips is not a bad price, if the food is good. Don't be fooled by portion size, you can have a huge portion of something that doesn't taste good. On the plus side they gave us TONS of tartar sauce and vinegar, probably to cover up the terrible fish and chips.

We started going to this restaurant over 25 years ago and it is as good now as it was back then - which is excellent. All that has changed slowly is the staff and all as fine as anyone would expect. The portions are large, the choices are broad and the beautiful decor is as as warm and inviting as ever. The star of this family restaurant, Jenny, is still in attendance but only on Friday nights 4pm to 7pm. We have to travel a fairly long distance but we'll have to make a special trip. One last thing, yes they still do excellent Mushy Peas and Scottish bread as a side order.

Lovely local spot in the city. Greeted right upon entry and dined in. Ordered the haddock and chips and it was crispy and delicious. Service was excellent and speedy! Will definitely come back when I’m in the area again!
