I recently visited Kandahar Kabab in Pickering, drawn by its reputation for flavorful Afghan cuisine. The menu offers a wide variety of grilled meats, rice platters, and traditional sides, with standout items like the Chicken Tikka Kebab, Chapli Kabab, and Lamb Shank. The portions were generous, and the meat was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The Mango Lassi was a refreshing complement to the meal.
However, the experience was a bit inconsistent. While some staff were friendly and attentive, others seemed overwhelmed, especially during busy hours. Wait times for food can be long—even when the restaurant isn’t crowded. Huma was the best! always smiling and ready to serve customers.
The ambiance is casual, leaning more toward a takeout vibe than a dine-in destination. Prices are on the higher side for the portion sizes, but the flavor and authenticity of the dishes can make it worthwhile

Ordered qabuli palau, kofta kebab rice, and lamb chops for lunch (cost a little over $100) and the rice were all the same-undercooked and bland. The meat is overcooked. What's worst is the qabuli palau, WHICH DOESN'T HAVE ANY MEAT (it doesn't make any sense) just undercooked rice, overcooked carrots and raisins.They use the same rice for all my order and just added carrots and raisins for the qabuli. Shame on this restaurant for calling themselves an Afghani restaurant if they don't even know what's a qabuli palau.

Ordered party trays but too much consisted of rice, naan, and fries. Most of this ended up being uneaten. The amount of meat provided was not proportional and the salad consisted majorly of iceberg lettuce. The amount per person spent on this party order was a waste.

Visited Kandahar Kabab with my family, great service and food. We ordered with Dorshana and she was incredibly kind and provided great service. Would recommend the beef kofta kabab dinner and chicken shawarmas. Would visit again.

The food and service is really good. Inside the dine in are, the fumes from fried food becomes bothersome. Also the washroom isn't clean. Towel papers were left on the couter and were wet. Hand soap had no lid and had water mixed with it. You had to pour it into the your hand manual

Darshana and priyanka gave us good service.Food was very good. The shwarma platter made by Zahim and Nabin was good.
