The best freshest sushi in Durham. They rake great pride in what they do!
Take out only but had a good experience! Cashier was very friendly.
Probably the best sushi place in Pickering. Sushi is consistently good. Note they mostly focus on takeout
First time try Sakura at 1550 Kingston Rd #3, Pickering and very disappointed with their service attitude. I have ordered shuhi and sashimi maki party tray the website showed price is 22 and when I order in the restaurant they said was 25 the price is updated on website. Today I have checked again the price also is22 I took picture can be provided.
The point is not the price just 3 dollars but disappointing the cashier lady and the man stand beside her very very bad attitude . When I said Happy new year to him. He didn’t even say anything and he showed back face to me.

Great food. Sushi was fresh and the sizes were great. Must try the kimchi fried rice. It was spicy but we enjoyed it. Nice hidden gem tucked away in Pickering. However I feel like they can improve service. They ask you to come up to the counter to order, even though you are dinning in for dinner. They also ask if you want to pay after ordering, what if the customer wants to order more after. I feel like they can improve as a business in that aspect.

Called for pick up dinner and was told it would be ready in 30mins , i ordered an avocado roll, dynamite & yamAvocado hand roll . I wanted to cancel cause it was to long of a wait for such basic items but they said it would be ready in 10 mins to avoid cancellation.
I woke up in the middle of the night with food poisoning. And I realized the last time I ordered from here I also got sick but didn’t think anything of it because I trusted them but now I’m convinced that I won’t be returning.
I am someone that like to support small owned businesses and Sakura use to be my favourite go to Sushi Bar. However the past few times I went here was very unpleasant.

Great little mom-and-pop sized sushi place. Portions are massive, and everything tastes amazing. Me and the wife go here anytime we feel like sushi.
Honestly: skip Makimono, go here.

Incredibly friendly staff, family owned business. Option for either dine in or AYCE. great portions for the price.
Miso soup was too watered down. The tempura was oily and served with plain soy sauce, not the sweeter tempura dipping sauce you usually get elsewhere. Rice texture was well cooked. I had higher expectations as this place was recommended to me by a friend but I won't be going back.

Ordered for takeout. The servers were pleasant enough. The food is pricy for what you get. The tuna shashimi was just ok, not great quality. The ginger also tasted strange in a preventive kind of way so, didn’t eat that. The Japche (glass noodles) were lacking in veggies. I had one sad piece of a broccoli floret and a few shredded carrots and the noodles tasted like KFC. If you want delicious sushi at a good price, try MIDAMI in Oshawa.
