I recently visited Slake Brewing and was truly impressed by the quality of their beer. The craftsmanship is evident — complex, balanced flavors and an overall fantastic lineup that reflects a deep passion for brewing. It's clear that a lot of care and expertise goes into the product, and for that, they absolutely deserve recognition.
However, the experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the demeanor of the server we encountered. While I don’t expect over-the-top cheerfulness, there is a baseline level of hospitality that one expects in a setting like this — and it was entirely absent. The server came across as unapproachable and dismissive, to the point that it made our group feel unwelcome. Hospitality is a huge part of what brings people back to a space like Slake, and it was disappointing to feel that our presence was more of a nuisance than a welcome.
I share this feedback not to tear down but in hopes that it leads to some reflection. A great product deserves a great experience to match — and I sincerely hope the front-of-house team can be brought up to the same excellent standard as the beer.
Great vibes and great beer!
Tried a couple of your beers at The Wooly in Guelph the other night. Very impressed indeed! Can't wait till I can drive east to your brewery and restaurant. Keep up the good work. :)
Everything is perfect, beer, landscape music and mood
Beautiful place and awesome beer.
Not only is it stunning but the beer is 10/10 and the service is friendly and warm. Delicious tacos didn't hurt either.
Great view, great beer and great spot to get together!
Good selection of beer, friendly staff and gorgeous views. The tacos were fantastic
Space, service, drinks and food were all phenomenal.
Beautiful spot for a good selection of beers. Tacos also available

Dropped by Slake Brewery for their Cherry Seltzer and other beers with my family of 6. Lots of parking!! We loved the open concept Interior design overlooking a beautiful viewpoint of PEC. They have a taco place called Rebel Taco which is the same thing as the brewery. They're both in the same location despite the Google maps location. Fun cozy vibe. Washrooms were clean. Staff was friendly for our off-season visit.
Highly recommend going at sunset and having a couple drinks on the hill with friends.
Come for the delicious beer (and great collabs with other breweries), but stay for the sunsets!
Beautiful grounds and views of the area. We sampled Peachy IPA and Burd Rice beer and they were both fun. Had some tacos and quesadillas too, they were fine, a little pricy, hence why the 4*.
Beautiful space with incredible views. Good beer and friendly staff. Owner went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a positive experience, not just the squeaky wheels. Will be back next time I’m in PEC.
