We enjoyed a delicious dinner at The Marans, the best we’ve had in several years! The pickerel filet topped with fennel salad was very fresh and light with balanced seasoning. The chocolate torte and the crème brûlée were both delicious deserts. The menu has vegetarian choices and gluten free choices. We highly recommend The Marans restaurant in Picton. We will be back!
The restaurant is cozy, unpretentious with local flavor. Family-run, three generations do the baking, prep, cooking and serving: flawless and joyful. The steak with mash and brussel sprouts was perfection! My husband's bouillabaisse was excellent! The owner assisted us with a teaser of two pinot grisios to taste before presenting a great bottle for $52 (very resonable pricing!). My partner and I had a delicious and thoughtful meal. We are vegan and the chef truly showcased the ingredients. The front of house team was warm, genuine and attentive. We were able to talk to the chef at the end of the night when all was quiet. Thank you for a great meal.
