Thus is a no frills pop-up restaurant in between 2 buildings. It's completely outside but they do have a tent area. Amazing friendly service! They really went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed dinner. Brisket was missing the smokiness and therefore left me disappointed. The koragge chicken was over fried making it tough and dry. The poutine was excellent!!! It's the one item done really well so much so, that'd I'd go back strictly for the poutine. Unfortunately, the other foods lacked wow factor.

This is an all around 5 star restaurant. We just happened to visit on a day. The main location near the beach was closed for renovation, and so we dined at another location further away, basically a tent serviced by a food truck. That said, the food was oustanding, the ribs perfectly done with a fingerlicking sauce and the sandwich was fabulous. Strongly recommend Fat back barbecue.

Picked up food here for the first time recently and was pleasantly surprised by the experience.
We tried a variety of items from the ribs, to the brisket, brisket poutine and chicken sandwich. For starters this had a much more Texas style flavouring to the food which we really loved. Nothing was overly sweet and it didn’t feel like the rubs and sauces were overpowering, you could still taste the meat which was great.
Brisket at first glance we thought might not be as tender but after trying it we were surprised to see that it definitely was. The ribs too were not fall of the bone (which is a good thing because) and had the right amount of pull on them reflective of true Texas offset smoking.
The only item that fell a bit short was the Korean fried chicken, the taste was great but the portion size was really small comparative to the price. We didn’t this this was a sandwich when we ordered it, rather we though it would be fried chicken pieces.
If I could make any recommendation at all it would be to have a couple different bbq platter options, allowing you to get some of each item and making it more cost effective for larger families.
All in all we really enjoyed it here, price wise, it’s a bit pricy if your feeding a group or larger family, for 4 people we spent around $130, but the food was great quality and taste was spot on. We will be back again for sure.

Was taking a stroll with my wife in Port Dover recently and stumbled across this nice outdoor patio with a large food trailer for ordering. Made reservation to try those ribs that sounded great on Thursdays. Well we got there and ribs were sold out but that did not scare us off as their menu was loaded with great options and they even made extra accommodation for us for the inconvenience. They have a nice spot near Home Hardware on Main street while the original place has construction all around it. Ok...on to the service which was sincere, friendly and prompt. The big knuckle brisket sandwich which is smoked locally by the owner was amazing. Add some great kale and broccoli slaw and some homemade garlic parm fries and we had the fixins of a great dinner followed by another great stroll to the pier to burn off a couple of those fries...lol. Met the owner and can say that for ribs and smoked brisket in Port Dover...this is the place. It is outside and they use takeout containers but don't let that stop you from this little gem. We will be back for sure.

Walking by and as avid BBQ lovers we were super excited. We ordered Brisket Burnt Ends. The table was super sticky from where duct tape had once held down the tablecloth - now being held down with rocks. In the kitchen a guy walked by the food holding a red sponge mop with the mop head up above his shoulder around food. The food was brought to our table and we were pointed in the direction of cutlery, condiments and napkins. There were no knives. The burnt ends were big chunks of beef that had no char at all and looked as they were roasted in an oven. With our forks we attempted to break apart the meat into more manageable bite sized pieces but it was too tough. My husband put a chunk in his mouth and it was extremely difficult to breakdown, chew and swallow. Had we not been in front and centre it would have been spit out. Flavour: had absolutely no smoke flavour at all and there were two different BBQ sauces on it. We are taking the meat home to deconstruct and eat it on a bun or something. Overall sadly disappointed.

hello, i was down in port dover today for friday the 13th and had your food for lunch i dont know how your staff did it but it was fast and top quality food as usual like when you deliver to my crew at stelco. i introduced a friend of mine to your food as i was able to convince him after telling him that i would buy his meal so that we would not have to go to gator as he wanted. i ordered us 2 of the big knuckle sandwiches wit fries and i will say i think you changed his mind as he was talking about bringing his wife and kids back to see you. i would just like to say thank you for the great lunch experience and keep up the awesome work.
