Terrace room never changes and there's something nostalgic about that. Food prices have certainly increased. They were super busy and short staffed. Food was good. Lovely family evening for us.

Service was fine, but food was terrible. we have been before and enjoyed it, but were disappointed this time. Perch had absolutely zero taste, and the fries were terrible and obviously not fresh. Rooftop terrace was great, service was ok, perhaps not the happiest women serving tables. Maybe this was a one-off, will try again in a couple of years, but hopefully someone will read this and put themselves on quality control.

We have been going to the EBH for over 50 years and it remains a constant source of the lightly breaded Lake Erie perch, some deeeeelishuuusss (nice and moist the way I like it!!!) cole slaw and their signature fried CELERY BREAD.
The new(ish) rooftop deck/patio off the TERRACE ROOM remains a terrific spot for fabulous food and drinks in Port Dover.
Just be forewarned......even though they have a terrific vented and slanted pergola roof and misters (some were not working on our outside section!!!) the rooftop can get VERY HOT!!!!
Parking: Port Dover is ALWAYS a popular spot so GODD LUCK on finding parking!!!!
There is NO ACCESSABILITY PARKING ANYWHERE AROUND THE HOTEL!!!!
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a VERY STEEP RAMP at the back of the TERRACE ROOM so be PREPARED to put the brakes on going down ....and to HAVE HELP getting BACK UP!!!!!
There is NO ACCESSABILITY PARKING ANYWHERE AROUND THE HOTEL!!!!

Very nice location and a great view of the water from the our door patio. Drinks arrived quickly and our order was placed. Our food was fresh and hot. 2 of us had the Pickerel and one order of perch and a greek salad and soup to round it out.

Will never go here again! Kicked us out on a rooftop patio for wearing a bikini top. This is a beach town. You are gonna lose alot of business. So stupid

Service was good but food was horrible. Probably the worst food I have ever ordered in my life. I got the 6 oz steak, asked for medium rare it came well done. I am a server myself so didn’t send it back or complain. But for $25 the steak was fast fry and absolutely disgusting. Nothing fresh about it. My boyfriends food was alright but his fries were terrible as well and obviously not fresh. The servers were great. I didn’t understand the hype because there was nothing special about this place
Relaxing place by the lake. Best place for a weekend getaway. Loved their veggie burger, and it was very fresh and juicy.
Humble staff and pleasant ambiance.

I have been coming here for the past 10 years from London ontario and the food and staff have been absolutely amazing. I am not sure how they do it, but I have never seen anyone write down what our table orders and they remember it all and delivery it right. Love the patio they have put in and the mist is a plus on a hot day. Their perch dinner is my favorite followed by the pickerel dinner. Love the coleslaw as well. Recently I tried their castaway coloda, was so yummy, can't wait to have another my next time in. I highly recommend this place for a great dinner. The drive is definitely worth it.

Visited the Erie Beach Terrace Room on Canada Day 2024 with my wife and daughter.
Upon entry, we were first greeted by a hostess that acted like she rather be anywhere but at work. We sat on the terrace patio, which offered a nice vantage point of the surrounding area.
Fountain pop was expensive at $3 for a smaller glass, and $1 refills. Sell your fountain pop for $3, sure...but let the customers have free refills, especially at the actual cost per portion of fountain drinks.
My wife had the breaded shrimp meal, which tasted like the breaded shrimp you'd buy as an appetizer at M&Ms Meat Shop. Nothing fancy, and pretty bland.
My daughter at the pickerel, which overall she was pleased with.
I had the 6oz NY Strip Steak, I ordered it medium-rare, but received it closer to medium-well. The quality of the steak itself was very good, it was nice and tender, and locally sourced. However, I'm 90% certain they just cook it on the flattop, with no seasoning. I was disappointed to find out it wasn't grilled.
We all had fries for a side, which didn't taste very good at all...at least if you compare them to the fries from surrounding businesses.
Our server was Britt, who was kind enough, but was VERY unattentive. She took our order, and brought us our food, but never came over once to see how our meal was, or see if we needed refills. She cleared some of our plates, asked if we wanted coffee/dessert, to which we responded no...and then that was the last we saw her. We ended up asking another server for the our bill.
The food was on the pricey side for it being so generic and bland.
Definitely will not be returning, the experience as a whole was very disappointing.
Not entirely sure what the hype is.

Service was outstanding. Their options for no dairy or beef were limited. They went beyond expectations to ensure I could have something and there was no cross contamination. Food was very good. We both had chicken wraps. The atmosphere is nostalgic but very well taken care of and clean. The staff were excellent.

This is our second visit but our family has been countless times and everytime the staff are amazing, the food is hot and on the table faster than you would think is possible and even with the insane speed of service the food quality doesn't suffer at all. Tonight we had some perch meals, a battered cod meal a kits perch and fries as well as a kids chicken fingers and fries. I had the mushroom soup which was very good and I love that they added Celery and carrots into the mix. I also had the battered cod which appeared to be your standard beer battered cod but the batter was crispy on the outside and yet light on the inside without the typical greasy puddle you usually find. This restaurant has is a historical part of Port Dover since the 1940's and its still going strong. This is definitely a must eat here location when you are in Port Dover.Kudos to the staff, Rose is always a delight!
