The reviews brought me here, friendly staff, went with the servers suggestion of Cod, extra piece of fish, fries and slaw. Coleslaw was perfect, crunchy and not overly sour, then I tasted the fries, and I just kept eating them, best fries I've ever had, crispy, hot, perfect. Then the Cod, a little heavy on the batter but the fish was mild and firm, really nice overall 5 stars, deservingly so!

Came here for lunch. They had 2 servers. The one sat us fast and then passed us off to another server. We waited and waited to place our order. After watching The server take other peoples orders that came in after us. and the other server basically doing nothing. We walked out. We take the time to come to your restaurant to spend our hard earned money. At least try and give us some service.

Portion sizes were ridiculously small, 2 halibut meals 60!!! And the fish was tough to chew, i dont know if this is the way its always cooked and dont want to just spew negativity im hoping they can get it together. But I probably wouldn't go back unfortunately. All the best

Simple decor but clean which matters most but the Fish is SECOND TO NONE. Decent quality food, served quickly & again, enjoying the fish here for over 20 yrs… Halibut, Perch & I think Pickerel too. Their batter is so light & flakey, whoch compliments the fresh fish so nicely.

Visited Lord Elgin Wednesday September 24, 2025. A favourite restaurant of mine when I camped in Port Elgin from 1970 to 1989. Still as delicious as what i remember but a little disappointed that they now charge extra if you want coleslaw or a roll. I've never had a fish and chips meal that coleslaw wasn't included.

Upon arrival we were immediately shown to a table, at which our very pleasant and friendly server arrived within moments. Our order came piping hot within a reasonable time frame. Our food was very good, and plentiful. For fish and chips you can not go wrong with here. We enjoyed everything about it, and would recommend to others.
