What a wonderful spot to visit and what an amazing patio space they do have. Wonderful British treats and products. The owner is delightful and I ended up having a lovely conversation with her. It felt like I was visiting a long lost relative as it was such a welcoming place. This is a must place to visit next time you visit Port Elgin.

A friend brought my mum a delicious meat pie for her 90th birthday. I found out it was from The Patio in Port Elgin, ON and called to see if I could order more. The owner was delightful and let meknow I could chose from 5 different pies either 5” or 9”. I placed an order and she was so easy to work with—I had someone locally pick themup to bring to Toronto, and The Patio got them all prepared, frozen, packaged and ready to go for pickup and even called me back to confirm the pickup date. Perfect place for a simple healthy lunch sandwich made on the freshest bread. We accompanied ours with chocolaty milk shakes and dined outside on the patio. Proprietor really cares. Bonus, able to buy some rare British treats to enjoy later.
The meal you have described, as any Brit. (or The Queen !!) will assure you , is NOT High Tea. It is "Afternoon Tea " of which the Queen partakes every afternoon at 4.00 pm "High Tea" is ALWAYS a cooked meal eaten about 2 hours later.
