We came across Ricky's Spud wagon while driving through Renfrew. I must say it was the best decision of the day! Fries and jumbo dog are tasty!! And Ricky himself was extremely welcoming and kind. Ricky’s Spuds is hands down the go-to chip stand in Renfrew for the most incredible poutine! Their fries are fresh, giving the dish an unparalleled taste. No frozen fries like Odi’s here! We were heading back home to Philadelphia after a 3 day trip through the area, and had to try Poutine on our way out. Ricky's Spuds seemed to be highly rated, and many mentioned the Poutine. Hands down, it was amazing. I have nothing to compare the taste to, but a big plus for me was that no matter how far down we ate through this giant cup of Poutine, the ratio of fries, gravy and cheese curd stayed the same. It wasn't just a bucket of fries, with the ingredients on top, leaving us stuck with a bunch of dry fries at the end, like we find with anyplace by us that serves cheese fries, or something similar. I can't say for sure if Ricky's has the best Poutine in the area, but if you told me otherwise, you would be on the other end of a very skeptic look.
