The upper crust sandwich is the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Everything from the homemade bread being toasted to perfection to the bacon being perfectly crisp. Highly recommend adding a fried egg to the sandwich - next level!!!! Can’t wait to come back!!

Amazing diner with homemade meals and a whole bakery/desert counter! They also have a frozen meal section for home. We’re regulars! Love their fish&chips every Thursday! Yummy!

When you first walk into the cafe, you can't help but be overwhelmed by the smell of fresh baked bread.
The display case of homemade pies and desserts with something for everyone, including vegan, gluten-free, and sugar-free options, is hard to resist.
They also have many wonderful breakfast and lunch items to choose from. This is definitely one of my favourite places to visit.

Vegetarian options: There are a few vegan items on the menu, including vegan desserts. they will often alter a menu option to suit the individual.

Dietary restrictions: This cafe makes their own gluten-free bread and can make any sandwich celiac safe. They also make a couple of gluten-free and sugar free desserts!

Parking: The popularity of this cafe often leaves the small parking lot overflowing onto the road.

Kid-friendliness: The black bear Cafe keeps small puzzles and colouring pages on hand. They have a kid friendly menu, highchairs, and booster seats.

Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is all one level without steps. The washroom can accommodate an average wheelchair but it would be too crowded to include an aide.

I always stop by when visiting family on the island. Their hippie sandwich is delicious! I’ve also tried their baked goods and they are always super fresh! The staff that I’ve met were all very friendly and the service was fast.

The food is excellent. Homemade jam that is so yummy. Service Excellent. The restaurant was a bit out of our way but worth the detour.
