Established diner/lounge in Richmond Hill, finally had the chance to visit after running an errand nearby. My partner used to come all the time with his family on the weekends when he was growing up so I was excited to finally see a snippet of his childhood experience. I personally love a good greasy diner breakfast as a personal comfort food preference.

I rarely say no to pancakes at a diner in the morning so I had original pancakes and added some breakfast sausages. Pancakes were large, fluffy, and too much for myself alone but thankfully I had help. My husband ordered the hash and eggs that came with home fries and toast. I feel like every diner has their own style of hash and eggs. I liked the one at Big Daddy's BC it wasn't overly salty. They have a magical toaster as well BC I loved the toasted white bread with jam.

All in all, we had an easy morning with bottomless coffee and generous food portions made with quality ingredients. Server was kind, service was relaxed, and food was priced very competitively in comparison to other local diners. I would definitely return next time I have the opportunity.

First time here came for breakfast. Didn't really know what to expect. Came in and the place had 2 customers seated but no sign of any wait staff or cooks for that matter. Apparently there's a bar near the back of the restaurant and that's where everyone is? Waitress finally did come by didn't seem very friendly tbh, kinda seemed annoyed that we had come and that she had to come to the restaurant side. Food was a bit of a miss. I ordered their big breakfast which came with 3 eggs and 2 hams (along with some bacon etc). I ordered my eggs over easy but 1 came already broken and the other one was cooked too long and wasn't runny at all. I also only got 1 piece of ham when the menu said 2. Overall interior is definitely dated, like walking into the past. Ii don't think I will return here as it was a bit of a let down. The place looks like it caters more to the local drinkers and bar folk rather than any real diners. I'm going to not recommend this place to anyone either as there are a couple of other breakfast places really close by so no need to check this place out as you're not missing anything!

Good food, good service.
I likely picked a weird choice in cabage rolls at noon.. they were good , but the veg was coldish.
Other wise it was great

We were up in the Richmond Hill area so decided to try this spot for breakfast. We both had the special at $8.95 with 3 eggs, Meat(4) homefries and toast.Really tasty meal, however they didn't turn on the AC, especially on a humid day.

Disappointing Experience – Extremely Slow Service

I visited this restaurant today during lunchtime, hoping for a quick meal as I was on a tight schedule. After briefly reviewing the menu, I promptly ordered a classic dish: penne chicken Alfredo. Given how simple the dish is to prepare, I expected it wouldn’t take long.

However, to my surprise, even with only one other table occupied (a lady with five kids), the service was painfully slow. There were just two staff members present—one waitress handling orders and drinks, and one chef in the kitchen.

After waiting 30 minutes, the waitress came over to confirm my order again, only to reveal they hadn’t even started preparing it yet. I was shocked, especially since I had specifically come during lunchtime for a quick bite. She explained that the chef was still working on meals for the other table and estimated it would take at least another 20 minutes to prepare my dish.

Why wait 30 minutes to confirm my order and only then inform me of the delay? The organization of this restaurant is chaotic. If you don’t have 1.5 hours to spare, I definitely wouldn’t recommend coming here. I can’t comment on the food quality because I didn’t end up staying to try it, but based on my observation, even the drinks were being made incorrectly—1 out of 4 drinks for the kids at the other table was wrong and had to be remade.

Overall, a disappointing experience. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else if you’re looking for timely service.

In general, it is a good restaurant. Not very modern but the food is good. Big portions and tasty. I like the burger but not the cheese steak that has bbq taste. I didn't like the sweet taste but others may like. The price vs the food makes sense.

Absolutely WONDERFUL woman greeted us when we arrived, and was super friendly the entire time. Good service is half the battle, and they have it in spades. Turns out the owner was sitting nearby on a break, and the woman took our order and got him moving in a fun teasing sort of way. Nice environment to see.

Two of us had dined in. Was it the BEST food? No, of course not, this is a local restaurant. But, the food was fast, hot, and good enough for the money paid (reasonable prices too).

The ONLY thing I noticed, was that it seemed that they were using instant mashed potatoes. I don't know how to run a restaurant, so perhaps keeping real mashed ready to serve isn't really feasible, but what I got was fine.

My friend had chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and I had cabbage rolls. We were both happy, and left with a smile, and that's what matters.

One last thing... they have a looping video showing photo's all (most?) of their dishes, so if you're unsure, that helps. :)
