Went to Deer Garden many times before but this time we found a disgusting fly in my wife's soup at the end of the meal. Mind you we had 3 orders of noodles for a family of 3 adults, I think it'd be completely reasonable to expect the restaurant to compensate our meal after finding an entire fly in one of our orders.

When we went to show this to the manager at the front, he not only did not even offer an apology, he had the audacity to just offer a free drink like it was the smallest of mistakes. After realizing we wouldn't accept a drink, he says he'll only refund for the order with the fly in an extremely rude way as if he's doing us a favour. It felt like we had to bargain to even get him to refund our money for one order, much less three.

I was willing to accept the fly in soup mess as maybe a one time mistake and wouldn't leave a bad review if they apologized and refunded our meal. The whole lack of remorse or desire to make things right to a regular customer left a worse taste in our mouth than the actual fly (believe it or not).

Just a warning to other customers, if this is how cheap the manager/owner is in regards to a situation where the restaurant is completely in the wrong, just imagine what kinds of shortcuts and they take in preparing and cooking your food.

Yes, the price has gone up over the years, but you can always expect a consistent bowl of noodles with a generous portion of protein.

Food was ok. A little bland. My big problem is that the establishment should be more transparent about pricing. The employee brings you your food, and just don't check up on you for the entire meal and expect a tip. They stopped us from leaving without paying a larger tip. A tip for what? All you guys did was bring us our food that we paid for. Very disappointed and I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

It’s good for a quick meal.

The laksa soup is the best!! Great value for your money as combo comes with a noodle soup and a free drink; I always typically get the yin-yang or HK milk tea+coffee and it always tastes great. We come here all the time!

I had a deeply disappointing experience at this restaurant due to the server’s extremely unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. When I politely asked for the server’s name, I was flatly refused. I then asked for the manager’s name — again, refused. I requested the owner’s name, a business card, and a complaint phone number, and each time I was denied with dismissive and evasive responses.

This kind of conduct is absolutely unacceptable for any establishment claiming to offer professional service. As a customer, I have the right to know who I am interacting with and how to escalate an issue when necessary. Instead, I was met with stonewalling and a complete lack of accountability.

I strongly urge the management to investigate this incident and address it seriously. I expect a formal response from the manager. Until then, I will not be returning — and I advise others to be cautious when choosing to dine here.

Good food! Pick own preferable item on our bowl. Efficient and friendly staff. They accept debit or cash only.

I’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant for years, but my recent visit was a major disappointment. The customer service has gone downhill—especially from the older Asian man working at the cashier (owner?) His attitude was shockingly unfriendly. I politely asked for a bit more soup to top up my noodles, as the bowl was barely half full. Instead of accommodating such a reasonable request, he curtly replied, “That’s how much you get,” with clear irritation.

Considering the prices they charge, it’s unacceptable to be met with hostility over something as minor as a bit of extra broth. If this is how they treat returning customers, I can only imagine how new customers feel.

As for the food, it’s not what it used to be—bland, uninspired, and oddly salty, leaving you thirsty as you eat. Overall, both the service and quality have declined significantly. Being a loyal customer even during covid days, Sadly, I won’t be returning.

I recently dined at Deer Garden Signatures, and it was a delightful experience that exceeded my expectations. The service was impressively quick, a standout feature for anyone looking to enjoy a meal without a long wait. From the moment I placed my order, the staff worked efficiently, ensuring my food arrived promptly despite the bustling atmosphere. The affordability of the menu was another pleasant surprise—offering excellent value without compromising on quality, which is rare in today’s dining scene.
I opted for their signature fish soup noodles, and it was a highlight of the visit. The broth was rich yet light, brimming with fresh, savory flavors that spoke to the care put into its preparation. Paired with perfectly cooked noodles and generous toppings, it was a comforting and satisfying dish that left me eager to return. The no-MSG approach they tout only added to the appeal, making it a guilt-free indulgence. While the restaurant was busy, the ambiance remained welcoming, and the staff stayed attentive. Deer Garden Signatures strikes an ideal balance of speed, cost, and quality—perfect for a casual yet flavorful meal. I’d highly recommend it to anyone craving great fish soup on a budget.

We ordered one item from this new menu and the dish wasn’t even look alike to the photos. Then there is a fine print on this new menu says the images were generated by AI and only for reference. What a scam!

I recently visited the Richmond hill location and have the same item I’ve always been ordering

‘Ginkgo and pepper fish soup ‘

Instead this time the broth is tasted like water and the pepper in the broth is overwhelming, it’s way too spicy that actually hurting my throat. I can’t not finish my bowl of noodle when it never happen before.

Usually when I dine in NY location I can even drink half of the broth and never feel sick about it .

This is pretty disappointing for what I experienced in RH location.

Food arrived shortly after ordering. The tom yum noodle soup and curry lambeicr were hot and tasty and perfect for a cold winter nite.

Deer Garden Signatures Richmond Hill is the one I always go to for a meal. The noodles were hot enough, very delicious, and the service was good.

We usually order the signature fish noodle combo—the Ginkgo & Pepper Fish Soup with sliced beef and fish fillet with vermicelli (thin), and the Chaozhou-style dried fish & minced pork fish soup with sliced beef brisket and seasoned pork mushroom balls.

The base of both soups was so flavorful and rich. All the food was great, with no frozen taste.

Service: The staffs are always friendly, welcoming, and helpful—super, super nice!
