Edit: Unfortunately they are now permanently closed—Friendly staff and very extensive menu for a la carte. Recommend the garlic rice, scallop, chicken thigh and the steak w premium sauce.Matcha tiramisu was a miss. We did not like it at all.

They have a rewards program. However, the reward expires within few months. I realized that while I was away for a year, all my rewards were gone. The reward was worth $50-$60 and has expired. Their rewards are useless. I feel deceived. I won't go there anymore.

Great gem with ample parking in a solid location. Staff are fantastic. Food is particularly excellent. Prices good compared to the other Japanese bbqs around.

After having a fantastic time at the North York location, I enthusiastically recommended it to my family for dinner. However, it turned into one of the most disappointing AYCE experiences I've ever had.We were a group of 11, including kids and seniors, and we opted for the premier set. The service was painfully slow, leaving us waiting for food rather than enjoying the grilling experience. To make matters worse, they repeatedly missed our orders, causing further delays. While the food was passable, the portion sizes were disappointingly small. We tried to order more to avoid the long waits, but every time, the server insisted we had ordered enough. The absolute low point of the evening came when my son found a piece of metal in the salmon, resembling a scrubber. Thankfully, he noticed it and didn't swallow it. I reported this to the restaurant manager, who apologized and waived the fees for our three kids. I accepted the compensation at the time, but it hardly made up for the overall subpar experience. To add insult to injury, the bill still amounted to over $600, and the quality of both the food and the overall experience was nowhere near worth even half of that amount. It left us feeling utterly disappointed and frustrated. Thanks god it is closed now!!!

Been there at least 8 times now and their food and service is great, considering how busy they get. Strongly recommend getting the app as you can collect points which results in $25 off really quickly after a few visits. Very sad that there was a fire, but will be back once they re-open.

Went to eat for the first time here on a wednesday dinner around 7pm for two people. It was not too busy when we arrived and was seated almost immediately. Food was amazing and our server, Monica, was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable when we asked for recommendations (she's the best!). Will definitely be back for more!

My husband and I have always liked coming here, but today I suggested it for our company dinner and everyone loved it. Their service is always great. All the servers and managers are very attentive and thoughtful. I know everything is cut fresh and marinaded to order here, and honestly I thought it would take a little longer than usual because of how many portions we ordered, but it took no time at all. We were such a large group but they really took care of us and made us feel special! For anyone coming here for the first time, I always recommend the harami skirt steak, prime kalbi, and sukiyaki bibimbap.

From mouthwatering meats to delectable vegetarian options, every dish is bursting with flavor. Whether you're a Japanese barbecue enthusiast or a first-timer, it is the go-to spot for a truly scrumptious meal. Highly recommended!

I stopped by this place on a whim after the gym one day and was completely blown away with the quality of the food and service! It was my first time there and I was a little bit at a loss for what to order. Thankfully, the manager was super helpful and gave me a few of her personal recommendations. Based on what I told her I wanted, she suggested trying the harami and the lamb. It was sooo delicious! The meat was fresh, seasoned perfectly, and tender without being too fatty.Overall, the service was quick and the servers were very welcoming. I've been to many barbeque restaurants around the GTA area and can honestly say that the customer service and quality of food here is a cut above the rest. Even though they are mostly known for their meat dishes, they have a large variety of seafood and vegetable options that cater to a variety of diets. I will definitely be back!PS: The Yuzu sake is a MUST TRY. I was so impressed with it that I brought a bottle back for my friends to try. It was defintely a party hit!

We didn't get to dine here due to the lack of service. We got seated after 10 mins waiting and then after waiting 15mins, not one server bother to come by the table to ask if we're ready or gave us water, we got up and left.

Just had one of the best service and food at Gyu-Kaku. Right from the start, the host and server (Kai) were so very accommodating, personable, and kind! They explained everything and took care of everything we needed to make sure we enjoyed our dinner the whole time (sometimes we didn't even have to ask)!We did a la carte and the value set we ordered also was so delicious and well marinated. The cuts and the quality are better than other Japanese grill places we've had. The value set was definitely more than enough for 2 and has a really good variety of meats and sides. The night ended with s'mores and what a better way to finish the dinner on a sweet note. I would definitely come back for the food but most especially the service!(We also showed up 1 hour before closing and were well accommodated right away until closing!)

We arrived looking for a budget quality meal, we were not disappointed. While the entrance is quant and small, it is quite deceiving. The interior is quite spacious and well decorated, not to mention a plethora of advertisements for discounts! That is always a plus for me.Our meal consisted of the chef's choice course set! The meats were all well marinated and the grill was changed very often to keep that consistent flavour. One thing I was obsessing over was the salad options that helped cleanse your palate to continue eating more meat! This is a spot I would highly recommend for anyone wanting quality meats!

The food is ok, however, we are ordering a la carte, for a $16.45 Prime short rib, there’s only 4 tiny piece, in the picture is our 2 order of short rib. Ridiculous. Same situation for all our other orders? but they do service lots of rice in bibimbap? If Gyu-bee or Shinta is too busy or having long line ups, just wait in the line, don’t even think about coming to here.

I introduced my cousins to something new for them - Japanese BBQ. We went to Gyu Kaku in Richmond Hill for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed everything!Their Supreme option includes 72 items, including raw and cooked items. We tried a little of everything and it was all good!We started with some lighter items, including Miso Soup, Edamame, Seaweed Salad, Gyoza, and more. It was a good introduction for my cousins, with no cooking, yet.Our table cooking started light, with Calamari and Shrimps. From there, we moved on to the meats, including the Prime Kalbi Short Ribs, Duck Breast, Filet Mignon, Pork Belly, Garlic Shoyu Chicken, and more. We even had some veggies in the mix, before finishing with dessert. It was all good! My cousins loved it!Our server, Ian, was outstanding! He explained everything quite clearly, always with a smile, and checked on us frequently. I have no idea why his name tag said Trainee. It should read Trainer!A big thank you to Ian and Gyu Kaku!
