I’m vegetarian and ordered the Steamed Dumplings (the menu listed them as “vegetable dumplings”). On the first bite, I noticed the filling didn’t taste like vegetables. When I cut it open, it was white meat. My boyfriend asked the waitress if it was the vegetarian dumpling, and she quickly said “yes” and walked away. Still unsure, I asked again if there was meat, and she insisted “no”. When I asked if there was fish, she finally said “oh, there’s shrimp” 🙃

Please make sure your staff understands that seafood is not the same as vegetables, and that vegetarians do not eat it 🙏🏽

Delicious food, fast service. This place is hopping, we came right before the line went crazy- worth the wait. Nothing fancy just really great food and a good price. The banchan was excellent. Enough veggie options. The veggie bimimbap was particularly delicious.

Nice spot for Korean food. We ordered the Pork Bone Hot Pot - the soup base was flavorful, and the pork was tender. They also refilled the soup base for free when it ran low. One pot can easily feed 3 people.

The complimentary appetizers were tasty too - I liked the marinated potatoes the most.

Service was nice. The place is a bit small compared to other Korean restaurants in the area, but pretty tidy.

Awesome place to check out pretty Authentic as it similar to mama's cooking!! I've tried lots of Korean restaurants and these guys you won't be disappointed.

Still got lots of dishes to try here but so far it's been good. I think the only thing that I wasn't a big fan of was the tteok- bokki only because usually most places make it with the smaller rice cake tteok-bokki these guys use the big and thick ones which wasn't to my liking. Maybe others like that I prefer the smaller thinner ones. Maybe they will change it up and try the other option ? Hope so !

Omg their seafood pancake is to try for omg its so delicious I've tried other places they've been good but I like these guys !

Service is great all the times I've gone I haven't had any issue on that .

A must try place, won't be disappointed!!

Be warned! You may be disappointed.

We were really craving gamjatang and decided to try Hongdae based on the high ratings. Unfortunately, our experience was pretty disappointing.
We ordered three dishes: the gamjatang, tteok-bokki, and kalbijjim. The gamjatang was incredibly bland. The broth lacked depth and the pork bone was flavorless, which was a letdown since this was the main reason we came. The kalbijjim was just okay—nothing special, but not bad either. The tteok-bokki was the best of the three dishes, and I actually enjoyed it.
The most frustrating part of our visit was the service. We were served plain white rice while we saw every other table receiving purple rice. When we asked our server if we could switch, she went to the kitchen and came back to tell us they were out. We began eating, and not five minutes later, we saw two tables that had ordered after us get served purple rice. It’s the dishonesty that really left a bad taste in our mouths.
Overall, the food was a mixed bag, but the poor service and lack of transparency are why I can only give two stars.

first off, service was really bad starting with the host. it was pretty busy and so i tried to get my name on the list. the host was going in and out of the restaurant and not taking our name. then later she goes inside when we’re waiting outside and she motions us to come inside to write our name down. she then squeezed us into a sit that doesn’t sit 5 ppl and so we had to be moved. the food was mid, there’s not much meat in soups compared to other korean restaurants, but the price is as expensive/ a little more pricey. side dishes are also not very good. there were no other korean diners- for a korean restaurant, that says a lot.

Great place to have an authentic Korean experience in Richmond. The food was good and the service is friendly and fast. The price is a little bit higher than other Korean places but the portion is large.
