I recently visited Kibo Sushi House, and it’s a delightful spot for sushi lovers on a budget. Based on reviews and public info, this place has carved out a niche for offering high-quality Japanese cuisine at accessible prices. Conveniently located, it’s perfect for a quick bite or a casual meal without breaking the bank.
The atmosphere is simple yet cozy—nothing fancy, but it has a welcoming charm that suits its focus on fresh, affordable sushi. During my visit, the standout was the sushi itself: well-prepared rolls with fresh ingredients that punched above their price point. Online chatter highlights favorites like the signature Kibo rolls and spicy salmon, and I can vouch for the quality—tasty and satisfying. The staff were friendly and efficient, which matches the praise for quick service I’d seen in reviews.
It’s not without quirks. Some mention smaller portions compared to pricier spots, and I noticed that too, but for the cost, it’s hard to complain. It can get busy, especially for takeout, so timing matters. Parking was easy, a nice perk for any urban spot. Public sentiment pegs Kibo as a reliable chain with a community feel, and I get it—it’s straightforward, delicious, and wallet-friendly. I’d recommend it for anyone craving sushi without the splurge, and I’ll definitely be back for more!

maybe i had a bad batch? but i got the spicy salmon and tuna roll which was sooo oily and it felt like 90% tempura flakes, 10% fish. i’m not one to waste food but the oil was way too much, i had to throw it away :(
Just needed an afternoon snack while shopping. We ordered these little hand heads and they were very nice. Easy, convenient and tasty. The kimchi was my favorite. Crab good too as well as the teriyaki salmon. Would stop again. Lasy serving us very nice too.

I can't believe this restaurant doesn't have higher ratings! I eat here every time I have a craving for sushi and I've yet to order anything from here that didn't exceed my expectations. I've never been such a huge fan of mall sushi before. I hope they continue their business at Hillcrest Mall forever! Consistently amazing food and service!

The service is amazing and the prices are also great. My favourite sushi is the spicy crab meat roll. It’s so good.

I want to give 0 stars. This kibo location is the worst sushi I have ever had and I consider myself a pretty big sushi fan. In my opinion this location needs to either reset and come up with better sushi chefs or close permanently. The service is atrocious because the woman that was there lied to my face when I asked for a refund on one of their products that literally was completely different from what the label said it was. She said make a complaint to kibo the company - as if this is not the company. Tried telling me I couldn't get a refund well that didn't work very well because I am not an idiot so at the end she gave me a refund but she lied and pretended that she can't find my transaction record when I just bought the item less then 10 minutes prior. This is a very dishonest way to do business. If a product has a description and it's not what the description says after opening the product, the customer is entitled to a full refund. Point blank period..this location is such a huge disappointment. The other location in upper Canada mall is amazing.
Please invest in over all quality of your business. And get rid of the woman who lied to the faces that bring in business
Items that I had in this location
Shrimp tempura - was nothing special
Spicy Salmon - drenched in spicy mayo
And the worst was the chicken and rice karage (so the description claimed) wrapped in the seaweed. Which is what I asked to be refunded for because it was not chicken karage AT ALL. I don't know what that was.

Love this place and the people !
This is the second time ordered sushi from this location via Uber Eats and I have to say, the worst experiences both times. The sushi tasted bad, and the texture was soggy , making it almost inedible. It looked old and unappealing, which was a far cry from what I’ve experienced at other locations.
I had high hopes , but this was a complete letdown. I feel like I wasted my money on something that didn't even come close to what sushi should be. I'm incredibly frustrated and will not be returning to this place. Save your money and look elsewhere for quality sushi!
Worst food ever!!!! They sent the hot meal along with the sushi, they came all hot and overcooked- The food looks disgusting. The Udon is only few noodles with cabbage and that's all. They add mayo on top of the crab rolls to make it spicy. Really? The food has nothing to do with the location at Upper Canada Mall. WASTE ON MONEY.

The first time I came here, I ordered a salmon and tofu sushi, but they literally didn’t even give me a tofu sushi and they didn’t even like she didn’t even replenish it. It was literally on the receipt.

Horrible sushi quality. Frozen fish tastes all over the rolls. No much variety. Expensive and certainly not worth the drive and dine
