The place is always cozy and the staff are the sweetest people and help out a lot. mind you the food is my FAVORITE specially the sweet and sour chicken
Unbeatable food for the price. Be prepared to wait for a table. Parking can also be tricky since their lot is so small. I recommend the fried pork chops. The classic beef chow fun was a miss today unfortunately. It tasted like it’s been sitting out for a while
Mr. Congee is by far one of the BEST restaurants that I have ever visited. With the consistently good tasting food, and great service, I go there pretty often. I rate Mr. Congee at full stars, and they fully deserve that. I always look forward to dining there with friends and family. A special shout out to Jason, Mia and othet staff members who always make me feel comfortable with their attentive, professional and friendly service.

Food was amazing, delicious and big portions
But it’s took long time until we get served
And they give us paper and ask us to write our order
It’s nice but too busy

Mr. congee has always been one of our go-to restaurants because it’s close to home. We often come here for dinner or afternoon tea, and my kids love their combo meals and roast duck rice. The food is generally good, and in the past, the waiters and waitresses have always been friendly and welcoming.
However, our most recent visit was extremely disappointing. That evening, we had dinner with three adults and two children. When paying the bill (around $150 in cash), a female manager at the counter was very impatient and even questioned the tip we left, saying it was “too little” and that we should give more. She insisted on calculating the tip based on the post-tax total and asked for 12%–15% of that amount, which I found not only rude but also unreasonable.
Tips should be given voluntarily based on the service experience, and her attitude and approach were unprofessional and unacceptable. I hope the management addresses staff attitude issues, especially when speaking with customers. Good food should be paired with good service — otherwise, the entire dining experience is ruined.

I didn’t like the food at all. The chicken was not cooked well, the noodle not delicious.

The food was just okay, and the steamed fish was overly salty. The service was very poor,we had to call multiple times before anyone came to take our order. The male host often pretended not to see us and kept walking off to help others instead.

I came in to order a takeout. The man at the back cashier who took the order lacks customer skills. I said good morning. Silence for more than a minute as he fussed around the back. He then answered the phone and took an order before taking my order. He never gave me my order when it came out either. I had to ask one of the waitresses. The food was disappointing as well - too bland. I won't be returning. There are many better options in Richmond Hill/Markham.

Our go-to restaurant for our family. Our favourite is the lobster noodles and Peking duck combo. Our server Jason was super helpful and very polite.
