understaffed with tired and cranky staff. waited over 25 minutes without being acknowledged . my 4 year old was hungry and cranky and we gave our business to mcdonald’s instead of playing tag with the one waitress in the dinning room. When leaving staff didnt even seem to care. some communication would have been nice. Definitely wont be our go to spot anymore as somewhere else will welcome and appreciate our business Im sure.

I absolutely loved the beautiful woodworking they have in the dining area. The food was hot and tasted good, and the gravy was delicious with my fries and chicken burger.

We came for the Friday fish fry--ordered one trout and one pickerel dinner--and were not expecting a whole damn fish worth! One plate is more than enough for 2 people and we enjoyed the leftovers in the woods the next day without being eaten by bears. Not much to offer for vegetarians you can order an egg sandwich served on frybread, which is the stuff of dreams.

Vegetarian options: Very limited veg menu. Definitely not vegan friendly

Visited on a Thursday and lucked into Chummy’s famous fish fry. The pickerel was delicious: tender, lightly battered and served in massive portions. I took two of the four fillets home for later, but managed to finish the tasty thick-cut fries.

The place was packed at around 6pm. It took a while to get seated but the vibe was warm and humming with conversation.

Glad to see this Batchewana First Nation restaurant thriving. Best food I’ve had in Sault Ste. Marie so far.

Firstly, the decor and cleanliness of the restaurant is very nice. The staff and service was excellent and attentive.

My wife had the big breakfast with home fries (grilled 3 bacon, 3 eggs, 3 sausages and three slices of homemade toast which she enjoyed although found the sausage a little soft rather than firm. My eggs Benedict was really not very good. The eggs were poached perfectly as asked, the peameal bacon was good and the English muffin were soft enough and was a great base for the eggs however the Hollandaise sauce was really bad. I’ve had many good ones and made my own but this ranks as the worst. It was basically just mayonnaise with a touch of flavouring, almost as if they ran out of the mix or time and backfilled with mayo. It really ruined the meal and missed the mark big time. I scraped off a much as I could and the rest was ok. I would suggest staying away from the eggs Benedict as they are not enjoyable if you know what Benedict and order more traditional breakfast which appeared done well.

Kids said they were sad that’s it’s so far from home, because they would come every day.
