I placed an order for wings and a poutin on Uber eats. Omg it was ABSOLUTE SHIT!!!! How can I add a photo to show what it looked like??? I dont see a way to add a picture.

I used to love Montana’s, and the chain is well run in southern Ontario. But this one is the worst run one in the chain. And it is all the managers fault.
There was one party in front of us, yet empty tables. We had to wait 40 minutes to be sat because they are low on staff.
You are low on staff because you don’t manage them well. People don’t quit jobs, they quit people.
Then it took 40 minutes to get our order - 3 kids meals, a salad, and a Ribs.
The kids were going crazy whining about how hungry they were. It was driving us adults crazy. I was told the kitchen was 30 minutes behind, set a timer on my watch, and it took 40 minutes to get the food. I was just about to leave in total frustration when the first part of the Kids order arrived. Ribs but no sides. And when the sides arrived later, they were cold.
It is the manager’s fault when the kitchen is behind, kid meals aren’t expedited, and food is served cold.
I had AYCE ribs , the first refill came in under three minutes, which was amazing. The second refill came in 10 to 15 minutes. The third refill took half an hour. I gave up on ordering anymore. The restaurant was empty by the time we were finishing up, so I thought service would improve, but it did not. It took another 15 to 20 minutes just to get the bill. For the first time in my life, I was so fed up I thought about just walking out. I didn’t feel anyone would notice.
Prompt billing and table turning is a key training aspect managers must impress on servers.
The bathrooms are atrocious and always have been the six years I’ve been coming. They stink, there are numerous air fresheners there rather than solving whatever the plumbing issue is.
The women’s washroom is smoky, something from the kitchen is venting into it. My two girls wanted to show me how bad the women’s washroom was. When someone flushes a toilet, the handwashing sinks get super hot:
Poor maintenance and bad facilities is the responsibility of the manager. Calling in a plumber to fix root issues should be a managers priority.
I won’t be returning, any other restaurant in the Soo is better than this.

The building is in disrepair. The entrance is so dark that you are not sure they are open. The washrooms are filthy and dirty, which makes you wonder how clean the kitchen is. The waitstaff is disorganized, so we had no one covering our table for a while. The food is mediocre at best. Avoid ordering their poutine, as the gravy is canned and tasteless. The food is not that good, and the buttermilk-battered chicken looks nothing like the picture in the menu, which shows it as lightly breaded. The only redeeming feature of this place is the patio that faces the river.

I recently visited Montana’s in Sault Ste. Marie, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I’ve had in Canada.
After enjoying dinner, I presented my American Express credit card to pay, only to be told they don’t accept it. There was no sign or notice anywhere informing customers of this before ordering, which is unreasonable in today’s dining environment. To make matters worse, they had no alternative payment options on-site such as an ATM.
The manager’s reaction was shockingly unprofessional. Instead of offering a reasonable solution, he told me to leave my phone as collateral and go back to my hotel to bring the money. This was said in front of other customers, leaving me embarrassed and upset.
In the end, I had to call my wife in Toronto to e-transfer $34 to a waitress just to resolve the situation. The lack of courtesy and problem-solving from management was unacceptable.
I have always believed that hospitality is about respect as much as it is about food. Sadly, Montana’s in Sault Ste. Marie failed on both counts. I will be taking my business to Kelsey’s, Jack Astor’s, or Chuck’s in the future, where not only is the menu more varied, but customers are treated with basic respect.
Montana’s management should seriously consider training their staff on customer service and making payment policies clear before seating guests. Experiences like this are damaging to the brand’s reputation.

Honestly some of the best service I’ve gotten in a while!! I think his name was Evan, killer mullet great smile and felt like family talking with him! Definitely asking for Evan again!!! Moustache would make the mullet a little better tho
