*If you are hoping to access the outdoor or indoor hot tub, make sure you call ahead to make sure they work!!* Stayed at the water tower for a girls getaway , excited to use the outdoor hot tub as the indoor one was closed (we called before booking to confirm). The outdoor hot tub was the same temperature as the indoor pool, and was full of orbeez water beads.. Mentioned to the employee it was cold & full of beads. hoped when we went down in the morning it would be hot as it’s supposed to be, unfortunately it was even colder. Entire stay we were unable to enjoy either hot tub which was the main reason we chose to stay here. Once again I alerted the front desk this time & she sent someone to look at it & then it was shut down. This used to be our top choice for hotel in the sault because of the beautiful facilities, but within the last few years it continues to go down hill. Hopefully the issues are resolved & one day we can enjoy the beautiful outdoor hot tub again!

Only stayed for two nights but it was a good experience. The service was nice and friendly. Plenty of free parking, 5 minute drive from downtown Sault Ste Marie.
Inside the hotel there is a Casey's restaurant as well as a small Starbucks coffee shop which is great in the morning.
The rooms were nice and clean.
The only things that I didn't like was the complimentary breakfast doesn't even deserve a one star. It was that bad and everyone in my group complained about the same thing. The second day I was there I went and bought breakfast at Casey's.
The elevator are super slow, especially the one in the back.
The rooms were clean however when walking through the hotel there are some areas where the carpet really needs to be cleaned or replaced. All these things are minor things and shouldn't prevent you from making a decision to stay there.
Also I want to add that it's a great place for families, they have a nice big pool for the kids and a spa for the adults.
As for places to eat there are plenty of places to eat close by within a few minutes walk from the hotel. From fast food like McDonald's, Wendy's and Tim Hortons to different types of restaurants therefore getting something to eat is not an issue at all there.
Personally I would definitely stay there again if for some reason I ever had to go back to Sault Ste Marie again.

We stayed 3 nights here and it was very nice! The rooms, pool and outdoor hot tub all are great and the place is very clean, has a pretty cool layout too which I liked. Would stay here again!

Staying in the Govern General Suite and it's been a pleasant stay. That said the room is dated but very clean! Neither shower has any type of shelf so you do need to put your amenities on the floor. The service is absolutely excellent! Right from booking to this evening all the staff have been friendly and accommodating. The location is excellent, less than 10 minutes to the boarder and surrounded by many food and entertainment options. The Waters are great, clean and lots of room for guests. The box lunches for the train were okay, but next time I'd pack my own. I would definitely recommend a stay here!

Rooms: Dated but very clean! Could use some minor repairs.

Nearby activities: The Agawa Canyon Train was a great trip! The views are absolutely stunning, especially during the beautiful fall colours. Be sure to bring snacks and drinks unless you want to buy them on the train, which isn't horribly expensive, but there is a premium. There is no Wifi or cell service which we enjoyed. If you bore easily, or are bringing kids, bring non electric entertainment, there are no chargers. While in the canyon, you'll enjoy extensive views. Each of the trails are quick and easy to get to, with the exception of the lookout which does require some exertion, it's 300 stairs. I highly recommend this trip!

The 3 night stay was great. Location has everything nearby. Wifi and digital TV had some connection issues. It was very limited. Beautiful spot. Would recommend. Love that it has Starbucks and Casey's onsite.

Hotel is very expensive for what it is in terms of rooms not being very updated.

Stayed in a 5th floor king room was clean and well kept tho.

Pool was warm indoor hot tub was closed sauna was warm but cold pool was shallow and more geared for children outdoor jacuzzi was nice but would like a cold plunge option for a "spa" hotel experience.

Staff were friendly minimal interaction which is nice.

But again very expensive $400+ for quality of hotel and views.

Advertised as lake view and bridge view...yes if you look to the far right of the rooms and push your face against the glass you can see the steel plant.

My go to hotel. As far as I'm concerned a room is a room. A place to lay your head. This place stands out because of their staff. Helpful friendly and polite you can't find better. A big shout out to Nicole a shinning star for sure. She has always made sure my stay was as comfortable as possible! Thanks to the whole staff you guys are great!

It's a pretty dated but well maintained hotel. Staff and service were both very friendly. The rooms were a good size and clean. Located on the busy section of The Soo, with all kinds of food options. Recommended.

My friend had her wedding here and I have been here many times for various events.

While I didn’t stay the night we did get ready in her room which was a part of the wedding package. It had nice space to it with a fireplace and a huge bathroom. It was a bit outdated and one of the windows was missing on the door but otherwise it was clean. They got embroidered house coats which was a nice touch and a mini fridge. Cozy for sure.

The hall was small as it was an intimate wedding. The food was served family style and it was very excellent! Tasty and we were all very impressed. Staff offered us seconds and were attentive.

The staff was very good at organizing for our arrival and walking us through how the ceremony would go, where we’d enter, providing us with any tables and chairs that we needed.

Overall it’s a great place for a wedding honestly. There’s plenty of parking and the restaurant is very good as well.

For those out of town individuals, the hotel is located very central as well, right off highway 17 so it’s easy to get to where you need to go.

There are pools and hot tubs but I never used these.

Rooms: Rooms are clean. Quiet. I believe they’re currently renovating too.

Nearby activities: Lots of restaurants and access to walking and biking trails.

Walkability: Easy to walk to a bus stop or any important places. Walmart nearby.

Food and drinks: There’s a Starbucks inside, and Casey’s for food.
