I’m really disappointed with my experience here tonight. This has been one of my favourite restaurants for a long time, and I’ve given it a lot of repeat business, which is why this was especially frustrating. We had a reservation that was confirmed a couple of days ago, and then confirmed again online today. When we arrived, we were told the reservation had been canceled — even though we did not cancel it on our end. The hostess told us there was nothing she could do and offered no solution other than sitting at the bar. Another server said she would check on the situation, but never came back, and we were left sitting there with no follow-up. Eventually, we felt ignored and decided to leave. Mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability or effort to resolve the issue was disappointing and felt like poor customer service. I expected better from a restaurant I’ve always enjoyed and supported.

A truly amazing experience. I frequent Ernie’s usually once a month or every 6 weeks (I have young children). And it has never ceased to amaze me. Tonight, I brought my cousin from out west and it was rated the best restaurant in the Sault by herself. She also noted the octopus the the best she’s ever had. Very well done by the chef and the descriptions and pairings done by our server Jack are unforgettable.
