A buddy and I were really excited to try out Adda Restaurant during his trip from Manitoba, but, man, what a letdown! The service was so off-putting it turned the whole meal into a downer. We ordered the most easiest meals on the menu without any modification, the server had to double-check it like we were speaking another language, and there wasn't even a hint of a smile or welcome from anyone. The person who brought our food just tossed it on the table, didn't care who ordered what, and seemed like they couldn't wait to get away. It was as if we were asking the world of them just by being there. And don't get me started on trying to get some extra napkins or a slice of lemon—it was like we were asking for their firstborn! Then the food, oh boy, it was a bummer. It tasted nothing like the fancy descriptions on the menu, and it looked like a mess. When we tried to give some friendly feedback, hoping to help them improve, the person at the management got all defensive instead of listening. So, if you're thinking about dining at Adda, I'd say skip it. There are plenty of other places that'll value your business and actually want you to have a good time. And Adda, if you're reading this, I really hope you see it as a chance to step up your game.Shams

I recently visited Toronto from Manitoba and was excited to have a great time with my school friend and his Torontonian friends. I had heard about Adda restaurant, so we decided to take a chance and dine there, expecting a wonderful evening. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. The service was so off-putting that it completely soured the entire meal. We ordered the simplest dishes on the menu without any modifications, yet the server had to triple-check our order in both English and Bengali as if we were speaking a different language. To make matters worse, the staff didn't offer a single smile or welcome. When our food arrived, it was unceremoniously dumped on the table, with the food runner lady showing no interest in who had ordered what. It felt as if our presence was a huge inconvenience. Asking for additional napkins or a slice of lemon seemed like an unreasonable request to them.As for the meal itself, it was deeply unsatisfying. The flavors bore no resemblance to the enticing descriptions on the menu, and the presentation was sloppy. When we provided some constructive feedback, hoping it might be useful, the management responded defensively instead of accepting it graciously. If you're considering a meal at Adda, my advice is to pass. There are numerous other Bengali restaurants that will appreciate your patronage and strive to give you a pleasant experience. To Adda: I hope this review is taken as an opportunity to improve your service and dining experience.

Amazed with the great management of owner even during heavy rush in Pohela Boisakh. Food was great. If you miss Dhaka foods, please come here. It may save a Dhaka trip!!!

On their website, they posted a special for $42.99+ tax. It did not indicate it is only for one person and for this price, many would think it can feed more than one (even with inflation). I was hoping to share this meal with my wife but was surprised to see it is only for one. We called them to ask about this and the manager was so unreasonable. He did not seem to understand why this was disappointing and when asked if he could offer something small to add to ensure we both had something to eat this evening, he continued to go on and on about why such a small meal was priced this way. We try hard to support local businesses in our neighbourhood but we will never occasion this place again unfortunately. Even at today's inflated prices, you can get a FAR better value meal with better customer service at many other establishments. I will note that eventually, he offered to add another piece of fish but my goodness, was it every so small, as was this meal overall.

I wish I could give 0 star to this restaurant because of owner’s disrespectful behaviour. We went there and restaurant was not busy at all. And we didn’t notice the sign for ‘wait to be seated ‘ so we reached a table because we had kids with us. But the owner came with his attitude like we just entered in a military restricted area. He was interrogating us why we didn’t wait there as we want to dine-in. I said sorry to him and mentioned that we didn’t notice. But still he kept us waiting. I wonder how he treats his staff if he talks to customers like this !!! We didn’t experience this types behaviour in any restaurant before. Never going back again and won’t recommend to my family or friends .

The owner was rude and disrespectful. I never had time limit to finish our dinner, especially for a group of 9 people. Food was okay not worth the price in my opinion. Didn’t like the experience with owner and probably won’t be going back.

ADDA was a complete disappointment. The service was incredibly slow and unfriendly, with staff seeming indifferent to our presence. The food was mediocre at best, arriving lukewarm. Overall, it was a regrettable experience. Save your time and money, and choose a different dining option.
