Chawk Bazar (South Asian Eatery)

I took their service for frozen items and will order again. I really like the packaging. The food is good with reasonable price. I appreciate their initiative. People who like deshi food, but don't live in GTA, this is a great option for the busy days.

This review is long overdue! We've visited Chawk Bazar numerous times over the past four years and have also ordered their frozen meals multiple times. Not once have we been disappointed with our meals—it’s consistently been a fantastic experience.

I’m sharing few snaps from our most recent visit on the New Year’s Day, the day we drove from Ottawa to Scarborough just to eat 🤣

Worst! Ordered frozen meals and it was a total waste of money. The chicken had a terrible smell..more like sour or sulfur-like smell, and the rice too. You are selling the product at a much higher cost but using poor quality and cheap polao rice...Are you a fraud? That's why your community cannot establish business in this land.

Made a huge mistake of ordering the wedding food package. The chicken portions were stingy and came from anorexic chicken. Management is unprofessional. Their website retains customer information from online orders because I made no account when I ordered online. However, I kept receiving marketing emails even after I unsubscribe several times. Then I saw the option of "Manage my preferences" and that took me to a page that's similar of having an account. It's totally suspicious and aggravating.

I have had the worst Kachhi Biryani at this place. It was bland. Let alone kachhi, it didn’t even qualify to be a biryani. It was just beef mixed in rice. This place has always been a hit or miss. But currently it’s just a mess. What’s worse is when I brought the taste issue to the restaurant management’s attention, they ignored it blatantly. I won’t go back to this place

We had such an unpleasant customer service by staffs working in here.
A few months back we went for dine in ,my husband ordered biriyani which was -god knows what kind of biriyani was it,my husband shared his review with one of the servers -server did not even bother to show any kinds of courtesy Neither any willingness to do anything about it .
They charged us full price !!!
Wow what a great customer service -and they are operating their business in a competitive market like Bengali Cuisines where NOW there are many good Bengali restaurants out there .
2nd, today I made an order for pickup and asked for if they could provide me some plates -they shut me off saying “there is a charge for that “ -I wonder if Chawkbazar staffs at all know about something called “first time courtesy “ .
Restaurants business are based on good food and SERVICE excellence -Chawkbazar has seriously failed in this sector.
We will never go back and will recommended other Bangladeshi restaurants in my community BUT Chawkbazar.

Every time I can have family visiting the city, I always take them to Chawk Bazar. The food is absolutely phenomenal and the service is so sincere. This is one place in Toronto where I truly eat with my heart. Best Bengali food in the city! Thank you Chawk Bazar for an amazing dining experience always.

The main reason I order from here often is the delivery option to Mississauga. Their foods are tasty too.

Everytime I order food from here feels like someone new has cooked them. You will eaither get amazing food or extremely bad its a total hit or miss. Like day before we ordered Lau Chingri but got Lau Jhol with 3 chingris and the lebu pata dal was yellow water with a lebu pata. Out of 6 orders 2 were really good making it 1:3 ratio. We are avoiding this place.

I had Bangla Chinese a few times. Highly recommend cashew chicken salad, Thai soup, fried rice and kulfi.

I've been here 4 times at least, I always get 1 Kg of the Beef Kala Bhuna to go. This time I dined in and added an order of Parathas. Eating hot and fresh is always better, I should have got 2 Kg's. This is a must try!!

We catered the Morog Pulao tray for 12 people. The food was delicious and arrived at perfect temperature. The delivery was on time. The quantity was alot. Could have easily gone with 2 trays for 12 people instead of 3.

Everything was great. Fuchka was good. Loved the mango drink.

Last Sunday we ordered food for about 35 people.
Our request was and paid for kalijeera rice in kachhi biryani. To our surprise one container was with kalijeera rest was basmati rice. No egg though we asked for it.
Food was tasteless, stale, potato undercooked. About Chicken we asked for roasted but confused is it kurma or white curry?
Never will recommend to others. Entire party was spoiled.

We ordered lamb biryani for 40 people. We had specific ask regards kalijira rice. When we received the food, it was tasteless, poorly cooked and stale and the rice was of poor quality Badmati. There was very little meat so about 50% of folks did not get meat. Potato was uncooked and no egg was provided. The moonshines of the rice and potato evidenced that the food was cooked earlier and left in the fridge/freezer before being served. Simply put, I would Not recommend this restaurant
