Daon Sushi Japanese Restaurant

Had the pleasure of trying this place out while I was in the area for a medical appointment and it did not disappoint early last week. Their lunch specials are very affordable and reasonable. Dynamite roll was very tasty and spicy salmon was fresh. Plus the owner was super super friendly. Would definitely come back here again with my friends and family next time.

It is a great place for really good sushi at an affordable price. The owner was very kind and friendly. The ambiance was simple but cozy and nice. Would definitely go back. Comfort food at its best. The owner really deserves the 5 stars.

I remember daon being my go to spot for sushi two years ago. I felt nostalgic and wanted to visit again, so I decided to dine in for lunch. To my surprise, the restaurant has a new owner who has made the place even better than I remember it being. The poke bowl was flavourful and filling, and the karaage was a great appetizer. Both the service and the food were excellent.

Everyone at our table agreed that the food was amazing and super affordable! Restaurant was nice and cozy. The man who prepared and served our food was extremely kind and friendly, it made our experience even better. Even though he was the only one working there to serve so many customers, he was still able to work with a smile and make us feel so welcome. Would definitely recommend this hidden gem, especially for younger people looking to dine on a budget.

Good stuff for a 1man army!

Great food, great portions, Richard is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Polite, and provides great customer service. If you are looking for good sushi this restaurant is one of the best in Scarborough area. Keep in mind you’d be supporting a small business as well.

Richard was extremely attentive and charismatic. I originally stopped by just to have a simple sashimi, but after browsing the Daon Sushi menu, we decided to try a couple of rolls—the Shrimp Roll and the Dragon Roll. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first since I’m not usually a big fan of sushi rolls, but I was blown away. These were some of the best rolls I’ve ever had—so fresh and packed with incredible bursts of flavor.

I’ll definitely be coming back, this time with my wife and toddler. This place is truly a hidden gem!

I’m not usually the type of person who leaves reviews, but this one is well deserved. This was honestly the BEST shrimp roll I’ve ever had in my life and I’m not even exaggerating! The flavors were incredible, the roll was perfectly crispy on the inside with just the right balance of sauces on top. Every bite was delicious and left me wanting more!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A quiet gem 💎 food, service and atmosphere was incredible! You can tell the owner has a kind and caring heart, and tries to make your experience personal. I'm so glad my husband and I stumbled upon this place! The food was so fresh, and the portions are really good! Handmade, and beautifully placed! Would definitely come back again! I forgot to get a photo of the food because it looked too good to wait for. The owner was super nice and this restaurant deserves way more traffic. Food was portioned well, very fresh ingredients and tasted 10/10. Would definitely recommend eating here.
