Fab place. Spicy wontons and all soup dumplings are my fav. One day I'll go beyond the dim sum menu, but it's just so good.

This is not the same Din Tai Fung. That my family loves. Drive all the way there to be disappointed. Food was not bad but definitely not the same. They clearly are trying to fool
People with the real one. Ordered 3 types or dumplings. They all tasted the same.

Not the real Din Tai Feng (鼎泰豐)even though they wholesale copied the exact Chinese characters.

I came here for dinner with friends on a weeknight in July and it was a great first experience!
While this restaurant isn't affiliated with it's very famous US counterpart with a similar name, it's still a great option if you're in the area.
We got a few dishes to try and shared amongst us.
We got:
The Stir Fried String Beans
Hot & Sour Soup
Spicy Wontons
Dan Dan Noodles
Overall for the 3 of us, the bill came out to be roughly $50pp which was pretty reasonable considering how much food we got.

Really disappointed with this Din Tai Fung.
The place was clearly understaffed — only a few servers for the whole dining area.
Hot dishes came out just lukewarm, and one of the cold ones even had ice in it.
Definitely not the quality you’d expect from Din Tai Fung. Hope management does something about it.

Good global Taiwanese chain making standard Shanghainese origin traditional foods. We got several cold dishes, dumplings, fried dumplings, Pea sprouts with shrimp. All was pretty good!! The jellyfish had too much oil, and should have cucumbers on side, maybe too complicated for a younger crew to know how to hit it perfectly right.

I came here to try some dim sum, but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing.
First of all, the menu we were supposed to write our orders on was entirely in Chinese. We had to use Google Translate just to understand it. I honestly think this is an inconvenience because not everyone can speak or read Chinese. I’m not saying the menu shouldn’t be in Chinese, but it would be much better if they also included English translations for people who want to try the restaurant but don’t understand the language.
Moreover, we ordered the spicy wontons, siu mai (pork and shrimp), soup dumplings, and pork dumplings. Most of them didn’t meet my expectations—they tasted dry and had a strange “raw meat” aftertaste. The texture of the meat was also off. The only dish I actually enjoyed was the spicy wontons; they were flavorful and cooked well.
As for the service, it was neither good nor bad. We tried calling a server over to get our bill and a takeout box. One of the staff members made eye contact with us but didn’t come over right away. He eventually did, but he didn’t seem friendly at all. There was no “How was your meal?” or even a simple “Thank you.” It felt like his attitude was just, “Pay and go.” A little politeness and friendliness go a long way, and that would’ve made me more likely to return—but sadly, there was none.
Overall, I don’t think this restaurant was very good. I hope they make some improvements in both their food and service in the future

Toronto’s so-called “Ding Tai Fung.” This Ding is not that Din, though the Chinese name has been lifted wholesale, as if one could slip into Michelin’s suit and hope no one notices the fit.
Such opportunism is rather cheeky. To the unsuspecting diner it appears a branch of the famed global chain, yet it is merely an echo, a counterfeit of branding if not of taste. One may tolerate a dish being off, but the masquerade of identity itself leaves a sour note far stronger than any vinegar dip.
I cannot endorse such trickery. There are many honest kitchens in Toronto deserving of one’s appetite. This establishment, I fear, is not one of them.

First time here and wow — the food did not disappoint! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The soup dumplings were steamed perfectly — the skin was just right (not too thick, not too thin) and the soup inside was so tasty without bursting when picking them up. My kids loved them so much we ordered a dozen!
We also had the noodles with beef broth — one of our favorites — and it was absolutely delicious. The vegetable dumplings and sticky rice were also excellent, and the sour drink was a fun treat.
The restaurant is spacious, bright, and open, so it doesn’t feel cramped. There’s lots of parking outside, the washrooms are located at the back, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Payment is easy — cash or credit (no discount for cash).
Highly recommend this place if you love authentic dumplings and noodles. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in the area!

⭕️This was one of the worst dining experiences ever. ⭕️The food was terrible — dumpling skins were thick and chewy, the clay pot had an awful pork smell. But the service was even worse: servers never smiled, staff just stood around chatting, and we were given only one napkin for the entire meal. My drink even came in a leaking cup! And yet they still chased us outside for a tip? Honestly, how does the owner allow this place to operate like this? Totally unacceptable.

Went there for lunch again. Tried the Souffle Balls again. Still as good as before. This dessert could not be found in Edmonton. Beef noodle soup was very tasty. Pan fried beef cakes and tulip cakes were very good too.
The steamed Soup Dumplings were very good. The Souffle Balls stuffed with Sesame Paste were the best. Usually other restaurants only provide the ones with red bean paste. Only this one that I found could provide with sesame paste. So.....good.

The food taste is meh!!! But the portion is the SMALLEST I have ever seen in my life. Not worth it AT ALL! I would avoid this place unless you have too much money.

Yesterday, I had lunch there with my friends. The food was very good and the portions were good size. One of my friends is from Hong Kong and helped us read the ordering guide. The hot and sour soup was less spicy than your local Chinese restaurant but there was chili oil on the table if you wanted more spice. The stir fried green beans were very tasty. Overall very good.

Whenever we’re craving soup dumplings, Ding Tai Fung is always our go-to spot—and for good reason! The dumplings are consistently delicious and always hit the spot. The restaurant is very clean, and the service is always attentive and friendly, which makes the dining experience even better. I also love their iced lemon tea with honey—so refreshing and perfectly balanced. Just thinking about it now makes me want to go back again 😌

I called for a pick up order of noodles at 9 pm and asked for them to be ready to pick up at 9:40. They close at 10. They refused to take my order because it was past “last call” came off very rude and it seems they don’t want my business.
