This place was suggested to me and it sure impressed me. I had the Halibut & Chips, it was a generous size. The batter was light & crispy, fries were thick & fried perfect. I have since returned and all was good! Definitely thumbs up 👍 would recommend it

This is my favourite fish and chips shops in Toronto. The menu is uncluttered and all choices are excellent. The decor hasn't changed too since I started eating here in the 80s and even though I don't live in Toronto anymore any day I get to stop in for a meal is a great day. A no nonsense restaurant that has stuck to its model of great food at good value.

Now, let me start out by saying that this is not the best fish and chips place I've ever been to. But I would be lying if I didn't say that the staff were all so friendly, we got our food impressively fast, and the food itself was delightfully fresh, light, and delicious!

All in all, this is an establishment that sticks to what it knows best, and uses its minimalistic simplicity to serve decently high quality fish and chips to every single person that walks through its doors. And at the end of the day, that's really all you need from a place like this.

Excellent fish and chips, real fresh properly made fish and chips.

This place is too far from where I live for me to be able to try more of their dishes, but I tried the haddock n chips and was blown away.

Fish cutlet is flavourful, batter is nice and thick and crispy, and fries are just as you'd see them at an English fish and chips place.

I saw that they also offered gravy amd got an order to complement the fries. Gravycwas deep, rich, and stocky as it should be, and made for great dipping.

Dining atmosphere is humble as you'd expect from a fish n chips place and it allows you to focus on your food. Furniture was neat and spot free. Overall a comfortable dining setting.

The staff was super-friendly and prompt.

I'd encourage the owners to open up a branch in downtown as downtown is severely short of good fish and chips places.

Vegetarian options: Unfortunately vegetarians may be disappointed dining here

Parking: Plenty of parking in front of restaurant in a shared lot adjacent to a main road

This place is so cute like a not so hidden gem that’s been around for so long for good reason. Fish and chips is their specialty. But the service is probably the most special thing about this place. Thank you Will for the amazing experience. We will definitely be back.

My family has been coming here for fish and chips for as long as I can remember. Probably darn near 2 decades or more. The fish and chips is the best you’ll ever have, the bread & and coleslaw on the side are fantastic too.

The other day we decided to order on uber eats and I mistakenly checked out with fish only, which we didn’t realize until the food arrived so I placed a second order for chips only and we stuck the fish in the oven to keep warm.

To my surprise I got a call from the restaurant informing me that they noticed the mistake I had made and they sent me 6 new fish and chips orders to ensure that everything would be warm and fresh when we sat down to eat. We couldn’t believe it as the fish isn’t cheap whatsoever! This just goes to show the type of business they are and that’s hard to come by these days.

While it would be even better if they offered homemade tartar sauce, the overall experience makes up for it. If you’re looking for a classic fish and chips meal that stays true to tradition, Duckworth’s is definitely worth a visit!
