I can’t believe I’ve lived in Scarborough for over a decade and this was my first time at Frederick Restaurant. Definitely long overdue.
I really loved their fried rice and the chicken pakora, both were packed with flavour and cooked perfectly. The green beans are an absolute must-order. So simple but so good.
Next time I’m coming back to try their soups. It’s a classic Hakka spot in Scarborough and I can see why people keep coming back. Definitely won’t be my last visit! 😊

The worst possible lunch specials. I picked up Shanghai chow mein (noodles) with shrimp and one Schwean fried rice w chicken and vegetables. The noodles were just tolerable. The fried rice was awful. There was hardly any chicken and zero vegetables. The whole dish didn’t look fresh. Chicken looked like few days old. Fresh food looks and tastes different. Why do they serve this kind of food? Zero rating for food. The service was okay. Called and told them. Nobody called back. They don’t care about the customer experience,

I have been ordering from Federicks for over 20 years. Tonight I ordered Singapore noodles and chili chicken. The noodles were burnt and acrid tasting. First off I was really shocked. Prices have gone up and quality has gone down. Would not recommend at this time and so disappointing. Also badly packed and containers leaked everywhere. Guess it’s time to find a new Haka restaurant

I went to Federick’s last night for dinner and it was AMAZING!! I definitely recommend the chilli chicken, and the chicken fried rice. SO TASTY😋! Only thing is, if you don’t like spicy foods, Federick’s miiight not be your favourite. But I’ve definitely had spicier. It’s not that bad in terms of spiciness. But my favourite thing about Federick’s, and Hakka in general is that you get all of the flavours of China, and all of the spices of India. Oh my goodness you NEED to try this place. It’s the real deal man.
I was told food will be ready in 10 minutes, all the people who came after me got the food before me. Not fair! Very poor service! Worst i would say!

Ordered Singaporean with noodles and rice and shrimp and chicken but only got noodles. Where did the rice go? Shrimp was under cook for my taste. Lack of gravy within the dish and was really dry. Seeing many people visiting this place so thought to buy dinner for my wife but it will be first and last visit.
